Is it possible to modify our current maps and remove all sockets?
Only static elements that are features of the map itself would remain.
Can we make new maps without sockets on them?
The reason for removing the sockets is because they need to render for each player, and it causes issues when that happens. So can we test a few maps without sockets on them for playability? |

Line Harvest has sockets only behind the Red line and seems to lag less than other maps.
Pipes map (Can't remember real name) also has no sockets and seems to be better for lag.
Rattati has already acknowledged this.

Almost all the parts of a map which people refer to as "the city" are different sockets.
There is the Gallente Lag Facility, Biomass Facility, Caldari Research center, that Minmatar one, ect.
When a map loads it randomly selects different sockets to place into the map, Making the maps vary slightly each time you play the map.
It's great for map diversity, but unfortunately is harder for the game to load, contributing to our lag and performance issues.

So can we either remove the sockets, or make sockets static? Making the sockets part of the actual map might help, yes? |
