Looking at the comments of the video... I think some people broke their ps3's or the ps4 discs... Always look at the video's comments...

Can you use your brain at all? PS3 have 10 years old hardware,how can you even think about "upgrading" ps3 to ps4... OMFG

Yeah, it works.
You have to be careful though. I guess I didn't follow the instructions well enough because I ended up turning my PS3 into a miniature cold fusion reactor.
Had to take it apart and start over, but I got it right the second time.

Wow I thought Sony would have asked CCP to delete this thread by now.
Surely they do not want any more people finding about this than already have. The only other explanation is Sony plans on patching this quickly so you better hurry if you have not done this already.
