My standpoint has always been that I have wanted to give the community more opportunities to represent and support themselves. I believe in putting the community first and passionately working to give the community the tools they need to do just that. Be it proposals for a volunteer-based services department or 3rd party API, my objective is to empower the community as well as be the voice of their concerns.
I am a long-term veteran of Eve Online and Dust 514, starting back in 2006 and June 2012 respectively. I have been heavily involved in the Planetary Conquest community in Dust 514 and have a very strong knowledge of almost everything the game has to offer with almost 80m SP. When I don't understand something, I depend solely on the community for enlightenment and I owe everything to you guys and would like to give back as much as I possibly can. I believe in synergy in all things and am a -STRONG- advocate for community crowdsourcing as a means of better design. At the end of the day, the Dust 514 community knows Dust 514 best - who else to better advise it's evolution than us?
Even though I have my own voice and opinions, I make it my priority to consider the greater Dust 514 community first and do right by them.
My goals are primarily: - To give the community better tools to work with (examples: Protofits, Dustcharts), including API support, which I am currently discussing the plausibility of with CCP FoxFour. - To formalize community volunteer bases and crowd-sourcing; encouraging closer working with CCP, which I am currently discussing with Eve Online's ISD Department. - To encourage CCP to be more communicative as a whole. - To leave no stone un-turned in the fight for stable performance. - To revitalize, empower, and make Dust 514 as successful as possible. - To encourage a smooth and powerful transition to next gen.
My resume includes a -huge- variety of different projects involving the community and I often take a mix of data driven and intensive design approach. A few (but certainly not all) of my previous accomplishments include:
The PC Lag Hunt The Burst Rifle Conundrum (which resulted in the Burst AR getting the same RoF as the Combat Rifle) Using Trigonometry to learn more about Myros (which helped establish a limitation of three per suit) The Faction Warfare Overhaul Discussion The Design-A-SKIN Challenge (which got a player's SKIN submission in game) Design-A-SKIN Challenge 2 (which is ongoing) The Planetary Services Department (which is being rebooted) -MULTIPLE- Singularity Data Dumps
Together we can empower the Dust 514 community exponentially, and together we can make Dust 514 what it was always meant to be.

Honestly, I don't care which. -A PORT- at all would be a hymn from God to my ears. Personal preference would be for PC just because I feel that it is much easier to expand on (CCP could release updates and expansions without having to go through Sony, the publisher) but if it came out for the PS4 I'd be right there with you guys, controller in hand.

Read that as "he is -too- good for the progress of Dust" and was like

It was the fact that you were running a Minmatar Sentinel with an HMG, if memory serves, and you were the greatest threat to me on the field being in an Amarr suit with an ASCR >_>;;;

CommanderBolt wrote:The only thing I want to know is will you push for small bug fixes and to push for community support to track down and reproduce common bugs.
I for one am willing to sacrifice time to be a guinea pig to find and quash bugs. However I feel that we will only actually get things achieved if we had someone like you Aeon that can take findings directly to devs.
I don't want anything else for the game, I dont want to call for this and that - lets clear this game up and make it 1000x better solely by eradicating bugs to begin with.
In the PSD I ran the volunteer bug hunting team. We had a really good momentum going but it's a lot to tackle for such a small team and no real support outside of that team (this isn't to say that CCP Rattati wasn't extremely helpful, he actually sat with me for hours one night going through EVERY single bug). The Trello board we used to track bugs is here but it's since been abandoned until I can get another team together because it really is a grueling, time consuming process.
It is -absolutely- something I want to push for. I think a lot of it has to be done at the community level as far as finding ways to replicate the bugs but ultimately it's on CCP to fix them and most are so minor that it isn't practical to fix. If the project does get rebooted, we're going to do it properly and assign bugs based on three categories: Must Fix, Should Fix, and Want to Fix. Once we can streamline that process I think it'll be a lot better overall to convey to CCP which bugs should be fixed in what priority instead of our previous method of shotgun-blasting CCP Rattati with every little thing that's ever been reported.
Hope that answers your question.

Hope that answers your question. Thanks. Mostly yes, as I expected but it is reassuring to hear. I have one further question, do you run a channel for bughunters or do you plan to have a corp for mains / alts - some sort of Bughunting corp?
At the moment, neither. We have a Slack channel I can invite you to but without a lot of support I doubt it's even used at the moment. I might make an alt corp though, it's something I haven't considered. Thanks for the input, might jump on that whenever I get home.
