My point, it would be OP against tanks, waaaay to OP. Even so, Im not completely against the idea, I just dont think swarms should be allowed in the dropships. A way to make this valid could be that this kind of weaponry takes out of balance the dropship, affecting the aim and impact in the target. Same with forge or even plasma cannon, but since you need certain skill to use these two I guess they would be ok, since it could be harder if the dropship is moving.
Also, something that could work against this idea is that the ADS would loose purpose, because it would be better to have six guys attacking with a dropship instead of three guys in a ADS, with a shot that could not hit the target, considering that the guys in the dropship have swams.
Again, I like the idea, but it would need a lot of work. If it were to allow only anti infantry weapons then it would be great, amazing actually. Just imagine, a poor squad under fire when you and your squad save the day giving complete air support and cleaning the area...

your argument = pointless
if five guys are wasting their time flying in a drop ship along with two others (logi and pilot) that's half your team that isn't doing anything to help out on the battlefield = lose
not to mention that those same people could be doing the same thing from the ground and a single logi can only give so much reps to keep the drop ship from dying it can still be easily killed by just about anything
in order to have a drop ship that's really hard to kill you'd have to have at least 3 logis and a really good pilot the reps are mainly there so the drop ship can stay in the field longer not be invincible and like I said before a drop ship can easily be taken care of with the right tools (example I took out a double hardened maddy with a shiled tank stacked with damage mods and a heatsink in a few shots I have an enhanced plate to survive a bit longer as well) just like any tank can be taken out may not be so easy but definitely feasible
and about ads being pointless, people already use regular drop ships or even ADS with side-gunners to hunt tanks
ADS would still allow a good pilot to solo and turrets deal better damage then most if not all AV it is also faster then regular drop ships, the pilot cant take damage whereas passengers can meaning if a drop ship is flying by you can shoot the passengers out but the pilot will remain safe as long as his drop ship does not go down
what I am trying to make happen is to make drop ships be used more often along with mobile CRU's and allowing players to defend themselves while being dropped directly into battle (I would also like to see the passenger on a LAV be able to use their weapon instead of just sitting there doing practically nothing)
often at times I fly around in a mobile CRU fit dropship ADS or DS but the seats fill up and no one wants to get out, the guys at the turrets sometimes actually do something instead of just sniffing glue but other times they just waste ammo while the other guys just sit there tagging along doing absolutely nothing (perhaps if they could use their weapons they would actually do something)
I really don't see this becoming a problem although many people would complain just as they complain about anything that kills them
6 guys on the ground with AV vs 6 guys in a drop ship as passengers two gunners and 4 AV would at least make it so the pilot can dictate engagements, a bad pilot will get them killed so many players will likely learn not to hitch a ride with strangers (I will admit to taking an ADS into the redline just so a blue dot that wouldn't get out would die even if that meant I had to lose half a mill to get rid of em) a good pilot will be able to turn the tides (if the enemy team has full ground control a good pilot could get their team right into the action or take out priority targets with help from the passengers and where a DS would not be able to do anything solo an ADS would be able to continue to give support even without passengers allowing for more of the team to be on the ground controlling points or doing whatever it takes to win
