...but if a Free-For-All GameMode were implemented it would give people an opportunity to play a gamemode where you won't get screwed over by a bunch of people on your team dropping out or AFKing. It would also give people an opportunity to run around a match in "fun" fits without feeling like they are screwing people over on their team.
I can only imagine good things coming from a Free-For-All GameMode. What could the negative consequences be?
What are your thoughts on this? |

Oh you're right. It would definitely be a clusterfuck...a glorious clusterfuck. |

This is true. I would hope though that a Free-For-All GameMode might provide a means for new players to continue playing the game instead of quitting which in theory would result in us having a larger playerbase and less queue times for matches.
A new player with only a few million SP might have a better time going up against individual people instead of risking at any moment having to go up against an entire squad. |

Sounds more like a stomp I see everyday in this game. I don't think it is possible for me to get stomped anymore severely than I have been in the past running solo in an Ambush match going up against two q-synced squads of 0uter.Heaven. |

Not against the concept but think it's got a lot of potential pitfalls and doesn't actually solve the problem of people leaving battle.
True that it won't stop people from leaving battle but if someone does leave a Free-For-All battle then it won't matter because you are only dependent on yourself.
Logi's would have the biggest problem in Free-For-All up until the logi realizes they can run around with multiple scanners. Heavies will end up being your primary campers for damn sure. Redline snipers can be dealt with by adjusting the layout of some of the maps. |

This is a pretty good idea right here. |

People stay and play it out even if they're losing miserably. Granted, these games also have rather larger playerbases than Dust... why would you want to play a game and not have fun? I thought the whole point of games was to have fun in our spare time? If I'm not having fun in a game I'll leave, are we at school here? Is that what this is, we have to stay until the bell rings? You would propose that? The people who never play solo expect people to stay and take their losses like men. Their fun is irrelevant, the squares up folks need their victories and kills. It is easier to blame the players than CCP for making a broken turd.
I primarily run solo and I fully expect everyone to stay in a match (98% of the time) regardless of who they are up against. I wish people would view the moments they are put up against really good players as practice to become better. This game has a whole bunch of absolute garbage players and I am pretty sure it's because the majority of them do not consistently challenge themselves. |

Casuals are never going to be tryhards. No amount of stick will change that. F2P games attract casuals. Crappy F2P games attract super casuals, or children. Its funny, people complain about people quitting, when the other option is they afk for the rest of the match, and the result is the same, except the quitter gets SP and a splash of ISK.
I don't understand how in your mind you think those are your only two options; quit or run and hide.
Also, this game attracts a lot more people than just "casuals". I didn't quit Modern Warfare so I could "casually" play this game. I left Modern Warfare to come to this game because in this game I can get my ass whipped and because I have the opportunity to consistently build up my character.
This game has a lot to offer people and it sucks that pathetic people like you who can't break away from being a complete @$$hole have to ruin that for people. |
