NextDark Knight wrote:Again, as a solo player this bandwidth gimmick sucks ass. Bandwidth is a problem for role hoppers.
For example... spawn in as a logi, switch to a slayer role after dropping mountains of uplinks, farm WP from kills and spawns. Other players would spawn as a logi, drop triage nanohives, swap to an armor sentinel, stand on hives to be virtually unkillable.
If you are irritated because of a lack of uplinks or hives then make a fit with uplinks or hives and lay them down. You have the monopoly on deployable equipment. Mad WPs for the rest of the match.
So bandwidth was implemented to prevent that kind of behavior and I am happy for it.
What we need is a UI element to show us how much of our bandwidth is in use / available.

Sgt Kirk wrote:All I want is to be able to ******* pick up my uplinks equipment. Relocating equipment would be nice, sure.
I would personally like a specialized mobile uplink that allows squadmates to spawn on each other so long as that person has the equipment fitted.

In the very least green tint it so you can tell which equipment is from your squad or not. If you put down a decent amount of uplinks as a logi at times it's hard to tell when they run out, if they got destroyed etc.
Never mind the rendering issues with the map where some equipment doesn't show up unless you zoom in and hover over the location for several seconds. It's especially bad with proximity mines. You can have a whole field of them down and yet you can't tell if they are still there or not unless you stand on the things half the time. Yep, your own equipment in yellow would be awesome. Back in January Rattati said he liked the idea. This may be a case where it appears to be an easy change, but on the backend it requires a metric f-ton of dev time to make it work.

Fox Gaden wrote:Agreed. But there is a real pain point if you play Sentinel exclusively, are running solo, and non of the Blueberries on your team are placing Uplinks, particularly if you don't have a BPO LAV. Gee Fox, if there was only some kind of heavy dropsuit that could fit a lot of weaponry, maybe it would be slightly faster than a sentinel but not as tanky... it would really COMMAND a firefight, you know? It would have an equipment slot too!
Man... I just wish we had that dropsuit. Dang wouldn't that be swell?

Why would I want to run light weapons?
All you people can gloat all you want, but my point is clear that it is a pain in the ass to be a solo heavy in this game. We're providing you with options. That's one of Dust's strong suits: you can do things many different ways. You seem to want a dropsuit that is durable, but can also drop uplinks. Fair enough: commando. It can do those things. Drawbacks include poor passive scans and sub-par movement speeds.
You want heavy weapons? Fair enough: sentinel. Drawbacks include even worse movement speeds and no equipment slot/bandwidth.
Dropsuits have weaknesses. Learn them and which ones you can tolerate with your playstyle.
