I think it would be a nice change of pace to have secondary objectives spawn in a couple militia/basic fitted vehicles with the RDVs once the objective is taken or destroyed. Fun for blueberries and a neat little carrot-on-a-stick. Or maybe drop in a couple of turret installations to help reinforce an objective?
I swear I've seen videos in Dust where a team began the game with some vehicles spawned in on the map already, but for the life of me I can't find it.

Free assets on the field really undermines the whole point of fielding your OWN assets with your own funds.
A central aspect of DUST is that everything you are deploying are things you set up ahead of time, you paid for, and are assets you lose when they die. Having free versions of these items that can just pop up is contrary to that vision of personal assets.
I feel it should always be a goal of DUST to move -toward- fielding more of our own assets, not less.

I both agree and disagree: Fielding our own assets *should* be the main goal, and this happens when we decide to use stuff better than Militia/Basic. I also feel that there should be a "floor", if you will, to the kind of stuff that is fielded on map to help shake things up a bit. Not a lot, but a bit. Tossing one or two temporary assets on the field for people to use isn't going to remove the incentive to use your own better stuff....
If you're a skilled tanker you'll be using your own better tanks rather than shtfit Militia or Basic, which can be destroyed even easier by AV.

You already get pre fit militia LAVs to call down when you want it. As for HAVs and Dropships, no. It's better that players invest skill points and isk if they want to drive larger and/or better vehicles. That's how the universe of EVE works. |

Even though the concept sound nice and all, and frankly worked well for the Halo series, you have to remember that Dust is operating under a completely different set of principles than most other FPS games that are incompatible with the principles you see setup for games like Halo where vehicles are pre-spawned and ready for you. One of those principles is that all players must learn how to invest in the gear they want. The only free lunch you ever get here in Dust are the starter fits.

So why not let people have a test drive of stuff they're considering skilling into and ultimately use on a more regular basis, rather than some side-objective on a random map?

from a lore stand point it could make sense. sure we need to supply ourselves with our own assets but what if the small perks of capturing an objectives deployed an LAV or a Dropship or turrets by the supporting Corperation your fighting for?

I'm not recommending full on *spawn ALL the vehicles for EVERYONE!*, but more rather an amusing novelty experience for things that many people do not use regularly. It gives people exposure to a different playstyle which can then spur players into investing time, isk, and sp. I could only see it as a net positive with promoting and incentivizing gameplay: a no-risk-free-trial, if you will. the ONLY time you can do this in a game currently is to steal a blue/redberry's vehicle, and that can be both laughter/rage inducing.
If the whole point of giving out free vehicles is to help players try out different play styles, then we don't need to see free vehicles in a regular match. Just load up a training area where players can safely practice and try things out without some random redberry interfering with you.

@Maken Tosch I would wholly support such a training area for things like tanks. I do still think, though, that having turret installations drop to reinforce an area (obviously in a balanced manner) would help shake some things up since we can't drop those yet ourselves.
@knight guard fury I'm aware, I thought the resemblance to the conversation was funny.
