As with any closed beta I get my hands on, I keep Notepad open and jot down anything and everything that comes up in the game that isn't supposed to be there. I'll be posting my notes and reflecting on them here in the hopes that CCP will eventually seem them. I just hope that they're helpful and can benefit the dev and debug teams all the way out in Reykjavik.

:Bugs/Glitches: 1 Map bugs. Shading, depth, color and cells 2 Floating hands upon death; appear to be holding a rifle, even if I died using a pistol 3 No character/vehicle in fitting screens 4 Gear switching* 5 Selected Ambush game, loaded Skirmish 6 Spawning almost always freezes if holding R2 to zoom into the map 7 Pinned under vehicle, not dead. Shot down by enemy(Only happened once, and I didn't take any damage from the initial impact) 8 Small turret missiles(LAV & dropship) not detonating on impact or reaching ground 9 In pregame lobby, character rendering jumps and shading is inconsistant 10 Large railgun installation on left side of ABC at Craterlake doesn't work right 11 No friendly tags 12 Turret fire in moving vehicle is WAY off(rocket turret)* 13 AUR dropsuits not showing on character 14 Must have money in PSN Wallet before buying AUR through the game 15 Hit detection is very skewed*

:Suggestions: ~Fix spawn-to-control times* ~Character control in MQ is difficult. Only use the NeoCom now, which is unfortunate ~Camera controls very bad* Allow full rotation of camera without rotating character(MC's) ~Obvious medic/triage/engineer symbol* ~No (obvious) way to quit to select character screen ~Rocket turret on Craterlake by the bridge on the west side is useless. Remove the construction garbage surrounding it ~Increase small/vehicle turret rotation speed ~Shotguns not nearly powerful enough ~Start fresh characters with militia specialty suits of players choice, not just assault ~Weapon attachments(could function like the Fittings screens and be generalized for each archetype of weapon) ~Grenade control/physics* Ability to cook grenades would be nice since they have such long detonation times
Okay, let's run down the list here. The map bugs are numerous, but mostly harmless and almost all involve rendering so I'm not worried about it, but it does need to be addressed at some point. I know we've all seen it, and I'm sure we've all got our own opinions on the matter, but this is 90% an aesthetic problem so I'm sure it'll be worked on by launch(or even the next build, if the rendering problems are all dealt with in one swoop). Next would be the ghostly hands bug. Personally, I love this one. It's like my hands just won't give up! Not sure if it's actually my whole body standing there since I've killed several enemies and they just stood there after dying.
This is another aesthetic bug, but one I'm not sure is actually a bug or an omission from the current build.
Weapon and gear switching is a real problem for me. I've finally worked out a way to do it, but I have to crouch and not move for it to work. Gear switching could be easy if you didn't have to hold the stick until the piece is pulled out. If it were made to highlight a tile in the selection wheel, but the tile stay selected even after the stick has been released, it wouldn't be as big of a deal. I'd actually like to hear what you all have to say about this one. I hardly ever see anybody switch from their main weapon so I'm curious how many of you actually do use this feature.
Glazing over to the R2 spawn freeze. This one bothers me a lot because I like to have an awareness of the battlefield while I wait to spawn for 10+ seconds. I've tested this and found that zooming in)holding R2) while waiting to spawn will often result in a touchdown freeze if you keep the button pressed when the timer's up. There have been a few times where it freezes right on 00:00 as well, but only when R2 is used. I haven't entirely deduced if scrolling around the map affects it anymore yet, but it doesn't really seem like it.
Small mounted turrets on moving vehicles are completely useless. It's like there's a cone of fire that widens when the driver is moving at any speed, in any direction. This is very troublesome because it renders the shooters almost useless and I think we know how bad that can be for an LAV. As long as this sticks around, it's an inevitability that someone is going to get a triple kill with LAV damage bonus points with a swarm launcher because the driver couldn't stop the car at all for the turret operator to line up a shot that'll actually hit.
I'll share a few words about the railgun issues I've found. It doesn't work and the projectile hits surfaces that aren't there. It's accuracy is crap, too. The other railguns work just fine, but this one is crap. I've also plays some matches where friendlies didn't have tags or colors. Ended up using the mini-map to tell them apart. Then we have the AUR dropsuits not showing on the character models. Another aesthetic one, but unfortunately a big problem. Playing naked isn't fun.
HIT DETECTION! I know I'm not alone here. My biggest issues with this is that headshots hardly ever do anything for me! I can see I made contact, but no damage is done. Why? |

this build has been under scrutiny since 5/18. basically all of these have been noted and probably fixed in the next build, which will have its own bugs
now we just play the waiting game until the 29th |

For the ambush/skirmish bug. Did you by chance Queue for Skirmish..Cancelled then Queue for Ambush?
I've found it doesn't actually remove you from the first one you queued from. I've been in games where the queue for the other one popped and I got yanked into it, or what you experienced.

No, I hardly ever leave a queue since there are only ever one or two viable matches to join anyway. It was really weird, but the match seemed to play just fine so whatever happened is way over my head

i think the spawning freeze using the map zoom might be lagg caused, but yh i expirenced that one a few times
the turret thats useless... just like a chocolate teapot
and the snipers could do with better sights, the assult rifles seem fine but choice of reticules would be nice as i find the green dot annoying after a short time
the vehicle controls are abit hard to use to their full extent to what i'd expect for an assult vehicle... turning is way to slow at low speeds
and the lagg on the neocom when using the L2 R2 is annoying, and im not one for the captains quarters on eve, but an option to turn it off and just chuck up the neocom straight away would be also a nice touch. also being able to move quickly in the quarters would also be a nice touch since its quicker to use the neocom to get to what i need quicker
my first time trying a beta so i wanna be helpful
