Charged Sniper Rifle = 224 dmg (i assume at full blast) (standard Sniper Rifle) Ishukone Sniper Rifle = 192 dmg. (prototype Sniper Rifle)
Even if it has more ammo a clip, a higher rate of fire and what not, why would you pass up a one shot kill (with skills obviously) to a 2-3 shot kill? the only downside to the Charged is that you have to charge it (imagine that!)....but you can just hold onto the charge whenever.
Maybe a bit more rebalancing to the Advanced and Prototype groups? Maybe ADD a Charged variant to the Advanced and Prototype groups? |

I think adding a charge variant to the prototype class would fix things, cause then people would stop demanding for a more powerful sniper, because that one would be the one. It would balance power with the fact that it has to charge and its low rate of fire. |

Sorry, but the tactical is actually the best. Charge has more paper damage, but if you're familiar with eve and its 'eft warriors' numbers can very often lie, or at least not tell the whole story.
Tactical has way less recoil, next to no sway, and very high ROF. A charge will one hit kill more things, but it's in no way a sure thing. You'll usually need that second shot, and the tactical lets you do that. The charge is terrible for follow-up shots. |

Hmm, well i tried it right off the bat and it annoyed me how many shots it took, it was probably because i had no skills. Ill give it another spin, as soon as the servers start working again |

I switched from the charge version to the prototype sniper rifle (haven't used the tactical...will have to try it out though), and I like the non charge version better...the damage difference is small enough that I can still one shot most scout suits, headshot most assault suits, and as it takes several rounds to bring down a heavy no matter which version you are using, the ability to get followup shots with the prototype regular sniper rifle means I can kill heavies faster. Although, unless I've missed something, I'm doing max damage currently possible with a scout suit and a sniper rifle: Sniper rifle operation V, Weaponry V, and three 10% damage mods (if they work, anyway...it SEEMS like they do, but no hard data as far as I know).
Thanks for the info on the tactical variant though...will have to try it out next weekend. |

My assault suit has 360 shield and 270-ish armor.
Problem? *trollface* |
