more friends> less friends. If 4 guys you know log on and want to squad, you are going to have to play fw. Most vets have gotten to know more than 3 other people, simply because 6 man squads were a thing for the majority of dust's existence.
Okay? I said I was running solo. how does running solo effect the necessity for other players to start a match? you need 31 other players to kick start scotty. This doesn't go away because aeon is running solo. you need other players to play pub skirmish, there is little reason to play pub skirmish over fw. less players playing pub skirmish overall means a longer que times for pub skirmish. heck, any group of players larger than 4 have no business in a pub match anyway. taking out these huge reserves of players means you are playing/being pitted against a much smaller MU pool, solo or not. that's where your long que times are coming from. FW has no ISK (or did they add that in?), has massive Q syncs of Try Hards, and has FF so idiot blueberries can shoot your vehicles.
You get faster Queue times solo because MM can fit you into games easier, instead of trying to find room for your crew. Plus, solo has the added benefit of letting you not listen to anyone speak, which is just wonderful |

FW has isk. Check your wallet afterwards.

I'm always queued for all modes but now that you mention it I don't even remember the last time I played anything other than dom. Admittedly I only play around 1 game a day sometimes more on weekends, so it could just be a fluke in my case.

I've run solo plenty. Either in a squad or not, que time trends always follow the most popular game mode. The more popular it is the shorter the que. fw is the most popular right now, simply because your taking larger groups into a fw by default. You don't have groups of 5 or 6 in pubs anymore, but you can groups of 5,6, 7, 8 or sync and get 16 pretty easily. The fw pool of players is larger, and with more players trying to start matches, the sooner a match become available. also, confirmed by rattati no matchmaking in fw so anybody can play anybody. MU isn't a factor there like it is in pubs.
The only relative difference I've found between running solo vs running in a squad is that I don't have to wait for anybody else to be ready, get done with their mail, check their fits, pick up other members etc.
yes, there is some isk refund now in fw.

Aeon Amadi wrote:Past five days I've been unable to get into any other pub-match game mode while running solo. Point in case.I -MUST- have Domination in my que or I simply will not get into a game. I've spoken with some other players and one suggested that it happens when the MU Score is too high and you have to deliberately lower it in order to get into other game modes. I dunno if it's true but, yanno, I'm considering it. I've been waiting for about thirty minutes now for a match and every time I get Scotty'd for duration, but as soon as I check Domination in my Game Mode settings I'll get into a match. At first I thought it was just that the servers were down but, no, this is very consistent and very reliable to recreate. (Note: I finally got into a Skirmish match after waiting four minutes while typing this up) I managed to get into two Ambushes the other days, but have timed out trying to get into an Ambush 3 times since then. When all options are checked I get Domination 90% of the time.

I used to find soloing FW a much better option than playing pubs (Domination), but now I find that FW has at least 3 or 4 people AFK.
I think the majority of people who queue MFW or GFW solo chalk it up as a loss and wait it out. |
