Much of the same really.
Would like to see the lag go, but I'm currently working on making my connection to the server better first. Got a new Internet company coming through so fingers crossed. Also, doing alot to optimize my performance.
Would like to see the jumping ability toned down to reason. Maybe only be able to apply 2 of the mods at a time. Currently I think it's 3, but it's a little much. 2 would still allow for jumps to previously inaccessible areas, and allow troops to jump walls as intended. 3 allows for high flying immunity, and gives an unfair advantage with splash dmg in an instant. I don't think this was the intention. 3 mods also allows for some crazy dangerous melee dmg! I can get a gal commando, with only 2 complex mods, up above 800 dmg a swing! Melee is for last ditch, not primary weapon. I can only imagine what a min commando is capable of.
The Assault rail rifle. Is it cqc or long range? Hard to tell since it kills very well from everywhere. If it's supposed to be the short range fast firing version of the rail rifle, then why can it also effectively hit at 75+ meters? If you want it to hit at 75+ meters, then why does it also hammer everything at 20 meters?!
The gallente assault and the Assault rifle. So this is up on various post every other week. Even Rattati has said he has no idea how to make the weapon desirable to players. Some argue in favor, or against, different variants of the rifle depending on preference and individual experiences. Personally, I prefer the burst variant to the tactical, and I'm split on the breach and assault variants. I guess in order of precedence I would say burst, breach, assault, and tactical.
As I've declared in previous post, the weapon class needs a revamp of sorts though I think some may have misunderstood my meaning. I was referring to the actual animation or action of the rifle. Not the dmg or fire rates. For example, the burst AR and combat rifle has the same rate of fire, burst AR has more dmg, and the burst AR has more rounds. However, even though the burst is statistically better, the combat rifle is the go to rifle. Why? Some would say because the combat rifle is armor based. This is a theory, and very valid, but I think it's also a little bit because of the way the rifles differ in application. The combat rifle seems to connect at an alarming rate better than the burst AR. The burst AR can sometimes make you feel like you're blind lol! You see the rounds land, but there's no dmg. Not even to the shields! The combat rifle seems to kill almost instantly even when there's a good chance you missed the target?! It just registers a hit, and keeps going.
This isn't a combat rifle bashing thread, just a comparison. The same comparison can be, and has been, done with the tactical AR and the Scrambler rifle. The tactical AR's bullet animation differs from the scrambler. The scrambler rounds are easier to trace while the tact AR rounds seem to not connect all that often because tracing shots seem dufficult. The tact AR trigger pull seems as if, in real life, it would be stiff. It skips and hesitates like a stubborn mule, while the scrambler trigger would be considered heavenly. It sings a song of golden death lol! Even after a buff to the tact AR, and a nerf to the scrambler rifle, players prefer the scrambler all day. The tact AR just isn't fluent, and in panic 3 meter away situations the scrambler will not let you down, while the tact AR hits the bench for the Ion pistol sub?!
Pause for the cause.... to the engineer of the ion pistol.... the federation thanks you! That's an amazing weapon!
The mass driver. I don't want to nerf it, just be able to avoid it. With the jump mods being as they are, there seems to be nowhere to take cover from this suicidal and homicidal weaponry lol! There's no fall-off! There's no range it seems. I've seem guys mass driving from the same towers that players snipe from, and get more kills?!
This leads to my last and final gripe. Trying to stay as positive as possible while complaining. This community doesn't seem to like when you suggest change. The maps in the game seem to be too open in areas. Cover, on some maps, seems to be non existent. While on others it's there, but useless thanks to jump mods?! Will there be more socket adjustments? To the campy dom maps especially. They are so easy to just be camped. Tactics on doms have been narrowed to roof top mass driver, heavy logi huddles in corners, or half the team quitting?!
The skirmish maps need a rearrange just to spice things up a bit. Hoping you guys can also bring back the MCC construction map!
Acquisition Mal points are far to predictable, and the redline moving has caused players not to play the mode?! In fact 90% of the time if you have the match selection on random, you will get a dom match. It's all some players play.
Ambush.... shall not be mentioned here.
I guess I can be patient, and do what I can to optimize my connection. Hoping this boost performance, and lands hits much better. Right now it's dmg mods ftw lol! o7

A better internet connection certainly can't hurt, but I wouldn't bank on it solving the lag or framerate issues you're experiencing. Have a pretty solid connection here (1gb up/down, 2ms ping, 0ms jitter, etc) and I experience these issues regularly. Switched from 30mb/sec cable connection 1gb/sec fiber connection a little over a year ago; observed no change in my Dust gameplay experience. I have heard that upgrading your PS3's HD to SSD can have limited effects on performance. Beyond load times, don't know specifically what else is improved though.
Wishful thinking really?! I have an ssd already so I figured I may as well do all I can. Played a PC tonight where I couldn't see a **** thing?! Went like 6/11, and it was just sheer skill that I could kill the guys I did see. I have played in this fog of lag so long I'm actually getting used to it smh?!

The SSD made a significant improvement for me. This is in addition to the static IP, port DMZ and lag min-maxed setting on ps3 and router though... The loading speed of SSD seems to affect not just loading screens, but the lag in mach from constantly loading and unloading textures. This can help alot on maps like the meat grinder (lag city) that are very texture intensive. Also, the fat ps3 has better cooling in general than the more recent versions it seems.
Will do all this. I know when I'm not lagging I put the best in the ground! Soon as the lag starts I can't fight back?!
