What if there were certain non-lethal grenades that provided a role similar to equipment:
Sensor Grenade: Provides a 'scan' of the area similar to a quantum scan with a radius rather than an arc. Hive Grenade: Provides a few clusters of nanites that stay until depleted or a certain time passes Barrier Grenade: Provides a small piece of '2d' cover where thrown
Comments? Suggestions?

Miasma could be an acid cloud for area denial/smoke screen effects (it would make sense to do damage in this case)
sweet ideas!

I understand that a flash grenade is highly unlikely to have any real effect on a genetically modified super-clone in power armor, but surely there should still be some smoke.
Decoy grenades would work better as a projected arrow (You know, the one that shows up above the head of a detected enemy) that shows up on the radar and visually within a certain range. This is should rely on your dropsuit's scan profile, that way it limits the abuse of such an item though.
I'm not so sure about sensors, since you have passive suit sensors and active scanners.
The Hive grenade is also something that already exists, technically, the compact nanohive may not be a grenade but it repairs and restocks. Which makes turning it into a grenade kind of pointless.
The barrier is viable though, and will solve problems when stuck in open fields when a firefight breaks out. Perhaps a semi-circle with a decent amount of shielding.
The miasma variant... It sounds cool, but how do you use poisonous gases on power suits that have air filtration built in? It even says that they have them in the suit description...
I was thinking that allowing a grenade slot to supply some ammo would be nice for some people that rarely use grenades, although your point is very valid.
The idea was that it was a cloud of acid, rather than traditional poison, which would erode sheilds/armor through ionic activity; because you're right about the ventilation/climate control systems.
