So... just did my first battle with an ADS... it survived for 75% of the battle... til I accidentally clipped it on the MMC... Never got a kill with it... the rail tank kept me from attempting to learn how to hover... .-. Meh... I'd say it was a decent first go.

Clipping on the MCC is bad, but even so much as touch the RDV's and you go kablooey... Go deep into your redline, on some maps if you're really deep in the redline theres gonna probably be a supply depot, use that as target practice. The real big map with the A objective on the bridge thing has some good redline roads you can use to practice hovering. When learning to land fly up real high and just plummet to the ground, when you reach a certain point quickly bring up your ADS to stop downward momentum(while pressing the r1 button to also stop downward momentum) level out your dropship as quickly as you can and slowly drop(r2) to the ground. (If your slow dropping is too violent, tap the r1 button to slow down the downward momentum then again press the r2)
Two learn how to react against AV bring out a nicely fitted ads(put a cheap turret on it) and just fly around a hot zone on the map(where theres a bit of reds) They are sure to bring out the entire AV line up to try to kill you. Try to survive as long as you can within the hot zone, but don't die(keep watch of your modules and when close to dying put those after burners on and fly out.)
Wait until your modules are fully charged again and repeat.
This is how I got somewhat less than average at flying those giant paper weights...

So... results of my second run... Lost 0 Ships... two kills...
@Louis got the landing part down pretty well already.. also I haven't skilled into Vehicle mods yet because I just wanted to see if I could fly an ADS before I waste my SP. So far it's going smoother than I thought it would...

ADS is unbalanced, i specced out of them.
They need more slots, and pythons need to stop taking 1000 shield damage when scraping walls
