wth is with the small blaster turrents... It's not AV, It's certainly not Anti infantry... Its good for nothing. Hard as hell to score single kill with impossible to taake down a ds shields |

i just use them for short suppresion bursts but yeah compared to all other weapons small blasters are rubbish, ive always wondered if switching them for a hmg mod would be better, most tanks today use coaxial hmgs but on the flip side tanks would be scary with twin hmgs as well as the primary turret

They suffer the same mechanic as hmg`s; bad range and the more you fire the more accurate they become, this is not optimal since they also overheat easily. But they are quite able to kill, but not much better than rifles.

I completely agree. If large blasters are supposed to be primarily AV, whilst small blasters provide the tank's AI, they should be better at killing infantry than large blasters. This is far from the case.
A dedicated anti infantry weapon, tank mounted and requiring two people to operate properly (driver and gunner), should be the most effective anti infantry weapon in the game.
Yes you can kill people with it. But who get's more kills? The assault player with a rifle or the tank gunner with the small blaster?
It should be the blaster. |

i'm sorry to hear you feel this way but it's all a part of a huge learning curve, you may not be able to grasp the perfection of Scotty, turn your hate to love, love of the enemy being culled, love of the stomp, and love of the tears in your foes eyes and you'll find a happier MM experence, if not then your hate will turn to fear, and YOU WILL LEARN TO FEAR ME!!
and if you actually do want to improve the MatchMaker even futher then buy Aurum, lots AND LOTS OF AURUM!!!!!

Auto correct.
Anyways, you probably haven't used them at the right time. Small blasters are great for taking out dropships ESPECIALLY PYTHONS AND MYRON. And they aren't the best at ai, but the do pack a punch.

When i see turrets on a tank i see one of three things.
A:blaster=blaster,um i hope you got fancy blaster mods.
B:rails=full auto sniper rifle that instaganks anything that isnt lagging.
C:missles=Welp they gave me a boomstick,so im gonna blow sh*t up with it.
scanner? whats that? you can see enemies on the radar? just use your eyes and save a equipment slot for something useful

Honestly I wish both large and small blasters functioned more like shotguns.
Large blasters overperform as a crazy omni-turret that's 'good enough' at everything. Small blasters underperform as a bad HMG that's bad at well everything.
A shotgun style turret that's semi accurate at range fixes some of the small blasters issues (reliability & aiming) and large blaster issues (overperforming in too many areas - good at most ranges, on the move, ai av and vs installations etc. it would tone it down at range and vs infantry).
