Why do people skill these when they don't use scanners? Does it affect your radar or ability to spot reds on via radar, LoS? Did I just answer my own question?

Do you mean ewar? As in dampeners, scan range and precision? Those are mods that affect dropsuit, but scanners. 2 different things. Although in my opinion, it's better to not run ewar, tank armor and damage mods and use a scanner.

Don't confuse passive with active scans...
Scanners are active (a tool) , passive scan enables you to see more irritating little red dots on your radar and screen when they're nearby....
A baseline for today? How about an acidbassline!

The Precision and Range Skills only apply to passive scanning (performed at all times by your Dropsuit), but the Dampening Skill will help you to avoid active scans as well as passive.

Scan range and scan precision skill have no effect on active scanners, it only effects your dropsuit's native scan abilities -- the ability of your dropsuit to detect nearby enemies.

Wouldn't have a reason for different classes... Ehp would essentially win... This game isn't like anyother fps. Its much more rage inducing, and part of that rage is the ewar element and the biotic elements of the game..

Except that people will have to use their eyes and play smart if they don't want to get spotted and live longer.
We could still have dampeners wich would act like silencers and precision enhancer to help overcome these silencers.
This way scouts will still be able to kill while remaining unspotted, heavy will still be spotted when they shoot and assault could have a chance against others except scouts.
I just had a genius idea here. CCP and future CPM members should read.
