My motives and intentions in running for CPM 2 align closely with those reasons that drew me to become a part of CPM 1. Anyone who has read my CPM 1 platform will find few surprises here. For everyone new to voting in the CPM elections, or who is not already familiar with my methods and intents to following should provide some context.
Playerbase, it's the life- blood of an online based game, its growth and stability are vital to the overall health of the game and communication between development and players is central to the role of a CPM, and to my focus as a CPM1 candidate.
The ability to find and communicate pertinent information to CCP regarding the game and the players is foundational to the work of a CPM. The inverse is also true, even with the NDA present it is important for a CPM to make best efforts to fill in the gaps between Dev posts and keep the community as informed as possible to maintain a high level of useful feedback from the players.
Emergent Game-play - The fundamental draw of a persistent sandbox game, regardless of type, is emergent game-play. Stated simply, it is the ability of players to make their own choices and define their own play experience.
A pillar of emergent game-play is player driven content, which requires robust tools to truly flourish. I intend to continue to push for more data, more social management tools, and additional flexibility and customization both in and out of match so that players can get the most out of their time both in Dust 514, both now and when - hopefully - moving onto contemporary hardware, be that PS4, PC, or both.
Which brings me to platform integration. I play on both console and PC, I've enjoyed both experience and firmly believe in the idea of Dust 514 coming to both PC and PS4. While I acknowledge that this is a long term goal as any plans to port Dust require a high level of development energy I believe it a crucial element to the future of the game.
In short, I hope to foster development choices that are not only good for the game, but support an expanded community on both the PS4 and PC in the coming days.
I welcome questions from the community regarding my candidacy and my time as CPM 1. My general profile is included below for reference.
Cheers, Cross Atu

Questions are, of course, welcome. I'm sure I can't have covered everything in the above posts.

DiGreatDestroyer wrote:07 Cross I bet you don't remember me, but I sure remember you. Two words: Conspiratus Immortalis. Some of the fondest memories I have of this game I made while in that corp. Even back then, I think everyone could see you had long term vision, something this game needs. Personally I never had the chance to congratulate your for being elected CPM1. So congratulations for that and for what you have achieved so far!!
Now, I'll stop boring our public and ask your opinion about a crossroad Dust 514 is facing right now
Like you, probably most of us think Dust514 needs a port to next gent to have a future. All of us can also agree that this game still has a lot of polish and balance to be done.
So would you rather port dust 514 now to avoid losing more players, with the risk of getting bad reviews once it lands on next gen (we already learned we can only launch once,) or wait until the game is polished to make a safe landing in next gen, at the cost of more players and at the risk of losing the game if it takes too long?
Keep adding your 0.02 ISK Cheers, DGD Destroyer! Of course I remember you, we had good times in the Conspiratus days and I was actually just wondering earlier this week if you were still around at all. Great to hear from you.
Now, on to your question.
I believe that a port sooner rather than later is important, however, minimum standards also need to be met. For me balance and polish are things that happen over time so they don't present a bar, but performance in match (something Dust suffers in, as we've all seen from time to time) is very important. If I were calling the shots on this - which of course I am not lol - I would push hard for better in match game play on things like motion and frame per second then port with that foundation leaving the rest of balance and polish to be iterated on over time as we've seen CCP Rattati and team already doing via patches and hotfixes.
If I haven't covered the bases on your question let me know, I'd be happy to elaborate.
Look me up in game sometime, we can catch a squad
Cheers, Cross

We may not always see eye to eye, but your .02 Isk have always been on point and tactfully articulated. I can think of no candidate past or present better able to encourage dialogue/debate and better suited to represent this community.
Thank you for your service to date, and best of luck in this campaign. o7 Thanks for your continued support o7
Our conversations, and yes debates, throughout my CPM 1 term have certainly underscored to me that you're not one to shy from speaking your mind or using data to challenge ideas and proposals. I'm grateful for your continued support but also for your help in keeping me honest and on point with dialogue, debate, and constructive input.
Looking forward to folks like yourself continuing to challenge and debate ideas with me if I am elected for a second.

Soraya Xel wrote:I absolutely, in the highest manner possible, endorse this candidate for CPM2. Having worked with him for the last year, and having hung out with him during Fanfest a fair bit, I can absolutely say he is one of the best people for this job. o7 Thanks for your endorsement and for the work you put in during our term as CPM 1. While we have not agreed on every point those who follow my attitudes know I consider that to be an asset among the members of the CPM, and your passion for things like getting the CPM 2 election squared away cannot be denied. Keep up the good work from the press box over on Biomassed and hopefully I'll be able to give an interview at some point on the contrasts between CPM 1 & 2 (the outside the NDA aspects of course).
Cheers, Cross

Brush Master wrote:I endorse Cross. I believe he is a value member of the community and someone I have been able to consistently talk to about issues and ideas that are and have effected Dust. Thanks for the endorsement Brush, and for all the information you've provided regarding DS and other subjects during the tenure of CPM 1.

Thanks for the vote of confidence and relinking those Shayz. I've appreciated your contributions and conduct in my CPM feedback threads this term and hope we can continue to work for the improvement of Dust during the course of CPM 2.
One thing I can note right out of the gate that I'd add to the content of the above videos - even without having re-watched them recently - is that bandwidth needs a visual indicator within the UI. Guessing how much BW you have total, and how much remaining, isn't an add to the enjoyment of play. Complexity is something I'm all for when it adds possibility to the player sandbox but to reach that kind of positive complexity we need information in the hands of players, especially in match information and things like a robust UI covering the relevant bases is in my view fundamental.
Glad you brought these up o7

CPM2 needs to have Cross. Period. So you all better vote for him. Multiple times, if possible. Thank you Zaria, both for your confidence and for hammering on ideas and issues with me over the course of CPM 1. Your efforts to poke holes in proposals (especially if they were mine) is most appreciated both for it's precision and it's constructive timber.
I hope to work with you more directly during the course of CPM 2.
