personally i say Methana though i am a Caldari loyalist i think the Saga and Saga is lacking. |

Why don't I just put a coffin on wheels because that's what both of them are.
Especially the Saga. You need high skills to fit a decent Saga and that's just not worth it.
Same with Methana but at least it has some HP on the base stats

well it depends on who you put behind the wheel  My Methana has near 3k armor and a 20GJ Particle Accelerator i'd say its pretty effect |

scanner? whats that? you can see enemies on the radar? just use your eyes and save a equipment slot for something useful

I really dislike getting into any LAV. Like Kirk over there said. Getting anywhere near those things is pretty much kissing your load out goodbye. Furthermore, I've been getting into trouble with fac war, because when I throw a Lai Dai at an enemy LAV and a friendly is close, the vehicle explosion kills the friendly

In the far future i will save up to that particle turret and add a damage mod somewhere, get a heavy with x3 complex rep and plate and just drive for 5 days in Skirm. Methana cus it's a slicker looking slug |

neither who uses lavs apart from noobs, its just a death wish
these days you never now who has a lai dai ready to f*ck up any mercs day in there pocket or a tank lurking somewhere.
thats why i use dropships for two reasons there fast and can take a hit and get back up |

As someone who has recently skilled in to LAVs, the Methena is just better at the moment.
After running the Quafe blueprint Saga for a while with a particle accelerator, I tried out the Methena and this is what I found:
The Saga can recover from one Alpha shot (forge gun, Rail gun, plasma cannon) then recover all shields with a shield booster but then be screwed. If you run and hide you should be fine after that you can usually take one more hit, then any damage after that youGÇÖll be dust .
Swarms will kill youGǪ but you can survive 1 or 2 sets but not a full clip of direct hits especially of higher tier.
Anyone carrying AV grenades will kill you.
A blaster tank will kill you, unless really lucky and you out manoeuvre.
The methena can take an alpha shot with a good amount of HP left which you can rep back fairly well. With use of cover you should be able to stay in the fight longer.
The methena can out tank and rep a good amount of swarms but donGÇÖt stick around.
AV grenades will still kill you.
You can survive longer in engagements with tanks in general which should give you the ability to make your escape.
The slow speed reduction due to armour is not as noticeable as you might think and the increase in HP and rep ability easily makes up for it.
General Notes: Generally drive at tanks if they turn up close as you will get past their turret turn speed, do not try and reverse to escape. If further enough away hide using cover and escape in the most efficient way possible.
Also when stationary always point in a direction that you can make a speedy get away.
Tanks my not have the same top speed as you but they can deal with terrain better that includes small hills. Take this in to account when setting up and making your escape as they can run you down.
Dropships are not too much of a problem but good pilots can stay with you until you make a mistake.

as the best lav driver in the game, (and i will forever hold that title), i have to say i prefer the saga-II
i managed to fit it with about 2000 shield, and it has an amazing hardener that increases resist to shield by 60%
over 3500 ehp to take my car down, and i have a particle cannon fit to the back manned by a decent gunner.
