The researcher responded, leaning back against the steel sink in a desperate attempt to put distance between himself and the psychopath that neared him.
Aeon Amadi wrapped his armored digits around the researchers throat, curling his finger tips inward around the man's esophagus as he leaned forward with hatred in his eyes.
"W-we had an early prototype that was.... Black and blue... It was scrapped because we felt th-that it wasn't according to design..!"
The researcher had tears in his eyes with pupils the size of dots, shaking in fear. The clone warrior glanced down at the researcher's sterile white slacks and noticed a growing stain that spread out from his groin. Amadi let go of the man's throat and began to walk away with a shake of his head.
"Do it again..."
Design a Skin Challenge 2
Rules:
Your submission -MUST NOT- be a skin that already exists in either Dust 514 or Eve Online.
Your skin will be on display. Don't send it in if you don't want the world to see it (though I can't imagine why wouldn't).
You understand, full and well, that this is a community challenge and the skin is likely not going to make it into the game unless CCP wants to make it so.
Your submission -MUST- be in a 500x500 pixel PNG format to be considered for submission.
Your submission -MUST- be sent to '[email protected]' by the submission deadline to be considered.
Limited to one (1) submission per participant. Make it count.
Deadline for submissions is no later than 12:00 GMT - July 29th, 2015.
Victor will be decided by community majority vote in a poll thread two weeks after submission deadline (12:00 GMT - August 13th, 2015).
Your submission should look similar to the templates I've posted below, displaying colors and/or patterns only. If you'd like to provide a secondary picture showing how it would look on the dropsuit, that is fine.
Rules subject to change at my discretion in the eventuality that silliness starts up.
In the eventuality that my own submission wins (lol) the prize will go to the participant with the next highest votes.
Prizes (may be added to as sponsors join in):
One (1) $50 Aurum Card from Gamestop worth 100,000 Aurum.
Submission Aid
With Design-a-SKIN 2, I'm wanting to include as many people as possible in the submission process. If you'd like to participate but feel your artistic skill isn't the greatest, I am willing to work with you for your submission. You should have a Skype account and add 'nomistrav' to your contacts list. I have a variety of camo templates to choose from and if you can't find something you'd like we can always make something new.
I am also willing to apply your submission onto either one of my girls so we can see what it might look like.
A Note on CCP's Inclusion
While CCP did join in on 'Design-A-SKIN Challenge 1' and included the winner's SKIN, I can make no guarantees about that this time around. I am still in the process of talking with them to see if they're interested in doing the same treatment this time. Should they join in as a sponsor, know that overly complicated designs are likely not to make it in the game and it is better to go with a pattern that is already in game (BDU and Digital patterns are already in the game).

- Your in-game character name
- Your submission (attached file/photo or imgur link)
- The title of your skin
- Subject line of your e-mail -MUST- say: "Dust 514 Skin Challenge Submission"

I actually have one for Caldari Medium that I made when I did my Deadsyn skin, though I would need to clean it up so it was less messy for public consumption.

I have the strangest desire to color it... ugh, why'd I have to leave my tablet at home!
That's actually a pretty darned sweet base for testing these skins though, designs look so much better when applied to the suit versus when they're just the pattern.
... I really do wish they would have kept the black and blue glitched skin though. It looked so sexy.

Just so you know, because I only get the news letter on an alt that I never play... and he was the only one of my characters that got the Red Gal Sentinel skin... I used the 10 million unallocated skill points on that character to skill into Gal Sentinel and have been playing him every weekend since.
That is the impact of the Red skin!
Plus it is an interesting challenge to try to stay financially afloat on a character that has no ISK.
... Now... Fox needs a skin for his Min Sentinel!
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

Here is my second SKIN that I've made... I modified the first one a bit and changed the name since Aeon apparently had created a SKIN called Forest before me. Woodlands CAMO GA-M
Also, what SKINS are wanted most by the players? Amarr, Gallente, Minmatar or Caldari? I am going to try to make a SKIN for each Race and will choose the one I like most or the one that gets the most likes to submit for this Challenge.

I have always been a Corel man myself. CorelPhotopaint may not be quite as good as Photoshop, but CorelDraw is better than Illustrator. Since I use the vector based software more than the raster based software, and they come in a suite, I always get the Corel Suite. It is also a lot less expensive. I have taken Photoshop classes though.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

It is a color readjustment. Though, drawing all the orange lines on the Sniper Rifle and getting all the pieces to match was troublesome. Mostly because I did it with my thumb on my phone.

Would technically make the suit more visible and harder to hide with (effectively punching Scouts in the balls) but if you're willing to don the flashy armor, I say why not.

Apply this to the Amarr one please.
The overcoat part (the primary color) should be a dark, desaturated sandy brown color in general, similar to chitin, or oak tree bark. The pattern should be a two-tone tiger striped camo, where the striped are slightly lighter, almost barely noticeable, but still different enough to add some visual detail to the pattern so it doesn't look flat, bit rather more organic.
The undercoat(the secondary color), should be a dark and slightly desaturated maroon color, leaning more towards purple than red. Darker than the overcoat. Something like this.
The metal parts should be a dark steel color. Something similar in shade and saturation to the background of the posts here on the forums, actually. But a more orange-tinted grey, rather than the blue-tinted grey we have here. Reference.
The lighting should be light orange, almost like orange sherbet.

Voting will begin in a little less than an hour and run for a two week duration, ending at the same time as the CPM Election Voting. Results will be posted around the same time as the CPM results.
Security measures are in place to prevent multiple voting from the same person. I'll be monitoring this on a daily basis and removing suspect votes, same as last time.
