Put it in the vehicle command wheel.
When pilot (and original owner) of vehicle brings up command wheel, vehicle lock will be at the very bottom of the command wheel.
Selecting will toggle it ON, selecting it again will toggle OFF, etc.
When lock is on, no one can enter your vehicle, even if you exit.
In control settings, you will be able to tweak settings, such as making squad members exempt from your locks, allowing them to enter even when your vehicle is locked

I would rather have it mapped to a button
Suppose I load up on active modules. Will my lock then disappear? Will I lose the ability to turn on one of my modules?
Have it so you pull up the weapon wheel, then push a button to toggle it. Triangle for instance. Something that's out of the way of module activation.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

As far as I'm aware, the bottom of the command wheel is never used for a vehicle, no matter how many modules you have

Interesting. I wasn't aware.
In any case, I'm sure we could designate some place on the wheel for a lock
