In case no one is aware, there is a buttload of terrain beyond the redline that is fully functional. Collision detection, the works. So lets remove all this unused map stuff to reduce what the PS3 needs to load.
Cut everything about 150m beyond the redline out. Obscure with fog. Add a secondary redline that instantly kills anything crossing it.
Less map loaded means less memory problems = less frame rate drops.

already known and in progress, same with welding the sockets to the land mesh and ditching the socket feature to fee up even more memory.

Managed to glitch out of a game once, allowing me to traverse beyond the redline. Spent most of the game climbing mountains . It's indeed a big-ass map (5x5km in fact).
Sadly, the "realistic vistas" are one of the things I really like with Dust. You really see it's real terrain and not just some fancy backdrop (like Destiny.)

5k = 3 miles = yawn its small as ****.
Why did the white girl cross the road? To get to Starbucks. <-- My GF will kill me if I ask her that lol :)
