Good Day,
I mean lopsided in number of players - 12 v 16 for instance.
Of all the issues with this "free to play" game, this is the one I think you guys can fix.
I don't know if this is possible but, I would think so. If either team falls below 10 players for XX amount of time or the team balance is greater than 3 or 4 players, 16 v 11, 15, v 11, etc. again for xx amount of time, cut the Ambush Game Timer in half or cut a minute off of it.
Or if in a Skirmish / Domination increase the speed of the timer 10% or so.
If the computer adds enough players to make it less lopsided - do not fix the timer, just don't cut it any more.
This seems like a relatively simple if / then programming concept, but that doesn't mean it's practical or possible.

Once the gap hits more than 5 players and you're in a 10 + minute battle it really becomes silly to have to stick around, the losing side is trying to get to 150 WP, often in cheaper and cheaper suits, the winning side is trying not to lose a dropsuit, but some of them are scampering to reach 150 WP. Everyone is trying to achieve Daily Missions.
Just make it stop sooner.

I don't consider 12vs16, 16vs11 or 15vs11 to be lopsided.
To me, a lopsided match is something like 16vs7 or 14vs5 or 16vs0.

you guys are looking at it all wrong lopsided matches are those with competent players on one side with little to none on the other
as a matter of fact I've seen plenty of matches were a group of 7 destroys a group of 16 and makes them quit so that it turns into a 7v2

Good day,
Thanks for the hyperbole.
I'm sure something like this could happen, but that's a Scotty problem, putting people who shouldn't be matched together and secondly a "people leaving the match problem," not a lopsided match issue.
I haven't encountered any "lopsided skill" matches like you describe in many months. That doesn't mean they don't happen, it just means the circumstances you describe are much rarer than in the past. So rare in fact I've never encountered anything close to what you describe. Again it's technically possible, but 14 people leaving the battle.
Now there are stomps and they happen regularly. I've been on both sides many times. Most of us have.
I'm not trying to fix those right now.
I try to stay positive in this forum. I don't see how this example is relevant.

I'm still curious to know if our MU value and our tier bracket in pub matches is impacted by our progress in non-pub matches like FW and PC. If so, that could be the problem. FW and PC encourage vastly different play styles than what pub matches encourage. Even then, the various modes within pub matches (ambush, skirmish, acquisition, domination) encourage vastly different play styles as well.
My recommendation is that there needs to be different matchmaking and MU value systems for each individual game mode. That way, my success in FW won't cause me to be pitted against players too far above my bracket in a pub match.

Good Day,
Mu - seriously. CCP will not provide players with the numbers needed to calculate individual MU values.
Players rankings used to be primarily based on total WP, over all characters. In the last few updates they lowered that percentage and added some other things. They claimed kill/ratios, average time between deaths, etc. etc. I don't remember them all.
-
Again, this has nothing to do with the main issue, one team having more than 3 or 4 players than the other creates an advantage, in the vast majority of matches I've been in, toward the team with more players. There are always exceptions, where the team with fewer players wins, this does not seem to be the norm.
CCP changed something in the last fewer updates that made lopsided matches far more common, they need to look at those changes and tweak them some. In this thread, that's all I'm asking for. I also suggested a possible fix. It may or may not work.
