don't listen to anyone that tells you that being a sniper is a cowardly role, it is the coward mindset that makes sniping have so much stigma attached to it
I will tell you this, I am a front line sniper not full time but I do enjoy going into battle with a sniper rifle at my side to counter snipe and be a suppressor
I suggest you use a tactical sniper rifle many people choose to use the vanilla version for the longer range, but that's usually the cowards that like to stay in the redline, mind you I myself have done some redline sniping of my own but usually only when my team gets pushed back or I am counter sniping as you can be a target for sniper hunting scouts I do however have a fix for this
cal scout two damps, damage mods on highs I have the krins damge mod but you can use light damge mods just as well
the major difference between the tac and vanilla sniper is the head shot multiplier other then the range and base damage
the head shot multi for a vanilla sniper is around 290% while a tac sniper is about 180% the sniper rifle does more damge to armor then shields so keep that in mind as my numbers are used to calculate against shield targets as they will be harder to take down
a std tac sniper rifle does 200 base damge with head shots that's 360 damage taking away about 10% for shiled resistance so about 330 damage to shields with headshots enough to take out most if not all scouts and some low HP suits, but add in damge mods and you can get more damge out, I recommend two enhanced light damge mods at least to make up for the damge lost to shields, you will be doing about 400 damge per head shot to armor two shots is enough to take out most suits if you start out with a head shot and you will be able to get out both shots usually before they can react as the tac has twice as much RoF as the vanilla version which does a little over 600 damge to shields with a head shot
as a sidearm you can carry whatever you prefer a magsec can function as a secondary rifle but you can use a BP as a secondary close range sniper and use your stealth as an advantage to line up shots, I use an smg but only because I have the BPO toxin so its better for me and makes my fit cheaper, carry a nanohive so you can have plenty of ammo as you will run out fast being close to all the action, being close to the enemy means they will know someone is sniping nearby so even tho you are damped stay on the move and keep an eye on your surroundings
my fit is a std scout 4 krins damge mods (can be replaced with basic light or advanced light damge mods) std tactical sniper rifle std toxin smg std flux nade std nanohive two std damps
the point of the suit is to be close to the action while going unnoticed and taking out targets from the shadows from a distance its a cheap fit as well and can be used for counter sniping from unpredictable places
if you want to be able to survive a direct head shot from a sniper rifles then use a cal sent with stacked shield extenders and a regulator although you will still likely go down to anything more then a std sniper
