these things can snipe you from over 200m away unnamed if you so happen to barely scratch one, its really annoying when you are trying to kill a player and one single stray bullet hits one even if you try to run away these things are so accurate that they will one shot you even if you are further then 200m

If you hit the RGT-I, that's your fault, if your enemy hides behind it, you rush it, if they're changed to anything, then the RGT-I will only be subjected to free kills like before uprising.
Not trying to sound elitist here, but you can also try jumping, it slightly throw's off the aim of RGT-I's, it won't EVER be accurate on the first shot, unless you are being completely still or are aiming down sight. Honestly, I've never had an experience where I've been hunted by unmanned turret's, unless, I'm trying to engage enemy one's with SL's or Tank's. Only time I ever get killed, is by manned turret's which to me, is fine.
(Sorry to be sounding elitist here, and perhaps smug and spiteful). However, if you see enemies strafing IN FRONT of turret's on purpose as a tactic, then there'd be a reason to complain.
(INB4 new tactic boom!)

this is simply not true, I have been killed because some dumb blue decides to shoot it then run in front or behind me also the first shot is just as accurate as any other shot, if not for lag even if you try to jump or move out of the way in any way it will still lock you and kill you jump, strafe, hide behind people it will still target you and kill you if you don't get out of its LoS
try this stay about 250m away from one shoot it and try to dodge the shots by strafing around, I can almost guarantee that you will die
also I have seen enemies do this and I have even done it myself when I feel outmatched, its saved me a few times but it is simply not fair

Kay, next time I join you in battle (I'm pretty sure your part of STF) I'll try shooting one and see how it goes, then we'll try you shooting it and me standing in front of it (beside you).

I know what both of these players are talking about, and I can see both points... My biggest complaint with what I have noticed about these turrets is that (unlike the blaster and missile variants that can be taken from a distance) these railguns are sensitive enough now that they respond to your vehicles way before you can get close to them, and most importantly people have figured out that these things are MORE accurate and dangerous left unmanned than manned (this makes approaching by foot very dangerous as a common tactic of having players camping around the turret to heal it, make the harder shots of smarter tanks/forge gunners, and to keep anyone from approaching on foot being that it is the railguns only major weakness... this usually happens in shock matches where the enemy is quickly pushed away from the objective site or sites and therefore makes it very difficult to get back to them causing many of the less experienced players to give up by either quitting the battle or staying back as far as they can... then the spawn site swarming happens). The point is that this is a tactic that hurts gameplay plain and simple (it allows more skilled users to be more lazy, and encourages less skilled players to quit... would they quit anyway, probably so but reducing the effective accuracy to such that the default rotation allowed the turret to keep up with tanks but not LAVs in full stride would be an improvement and bring LAVs a purpose again... these things are way too weak right now, and I am saying this both as a player that uses them and as a player that is exploiting the hell out of their ridiculous weakness).
So long story short I think that decreasing the railguns accuracy (timing) would be a good thing overall. |
