There are a lot of conflicting reports on how effective the matchmaking is with the new squad cap. I decided to log the results of public matches, and post them here for the community to see.
For the test, I've decided to play like a noob: Solo, Apex suit, All game types selected.
The results will be posted like this: EX: AM --- 15(13)V14(10) --- W-122-87 --- 8/2/1000
AM = Gametype (Ambush) 15 V14 = Players at start of the match (my team listed first) (13)V (10) = Players at end of match W = Win or Loss 122-87 = Clone count at end of match (my team listed first) 8/2/1000 = Kills/Deaths/WP
Variables
My stats:
Rank: Major KD: 2.14 WL: 1.83 Start time: 1400UTC Playing from Western North America Server: Automatic
Games played today
1.) D --- 13(13) V 13(5) --- W-135-112 --- 4/2/671 --- (Point never changed hands) 2.) D --- 14(11) V 15(14) --- L-44-115 --- 1/7/1305 --- (Point never changed hands) 3.) D --- 15(14) V 15(9) --- W-86-127 --- 4/3/975 --- (Point never changed hands) 4.) D --- 15(12) V 15(9) --- W-101-61 --- 4/1/1059 --- (Point never changed hands) 5.) D --- 11(5) V 13(13) --- L-86-139 --- 3/4/470 --- (Point never changed hands)
I'll play more games to get a bigger sample, but the initial results are worse than I was hoping for.

Yeah a lot can be said about a lot of things. Smaller squads means less aggressive gameplay when your losing and more equipment slots available can make drop suits more expensive to field since they equip more modules. Which leads to people playing it safer and giving up if they die to much in the initial 5min of the match. Especially since pay outs on those 10-12 player teams tends to be a lousy 200k or less. If your number 5 on the list you might get as low as 80k.
My biggest complaint you touched on has been around for a while. Uneven teams to begin with that is only made worse when the match maker continues to give more players to the team that already has the most to begin with. I've also noticed that I have been put in more battles in progress lately than before the patch. Usually our MCC has already lost shields when the map loads up. Making it a nearly hopeless situation to try and turn around, even if you were in a squad of 4. Just because 99% of the players in the game gave up. |

I wish I had the drive to log my results.
I've posted plenty about the issue. I'd guess that at least 50% of Dominations end with the point never changing hands. I've been in plenty where there are a TOTAL of 1 or 2 enemy players that get within 100 meters of the point.

I would say increase the payout of isk, put in some kind of refund mechanic like in FW where you get a fraction of your losses or make the SP payouts even more tied to your performance. Right now after about 2-3k WP the SP stops really paying out that much. Money is mostly dependent on killing your enemy, but if your being spawn killed in the red line you can't do much about that. Far to many matches go with one team losing less than 10 clones.
I think a good safe place to spawn would do wonders for preventing the just give up matches. A redline buffer far enough that people can't just run in with scouts and shot gun you as you spawn would be nice on a lot of maps. An added bonus if the red line was pushed back more, or behind more obstacles like hills, people wouldn't be able to red line snipe either. Well not unless the enemy is still trying to push into the redline for kills.
Then I think it's fair, if your trying to spawn kill in the red line you deserve to be killed by a milita sniper riffle. |

As much as I try not to go hunting near the redline, after a few one sided matches I get frustrated and try to find a way to have some form of entertainment in the video game I'm playing. |

It's a pretty vicious cycle. People complain that the other team isn't trying, yet they run into the red line to stomp any attempts of recovery. Blasting vehicles out of the air and killing people as they spawn in. On other hand if the other team gave up, you have to do those things not just for fun but to earn WP. If you don't earn at least 150 you won't get any SP for the match...
Which is the other annoying part. Skirms it isn't so bad if a team gives up. With all 5 points the match goes pretty fast. In Domination though it seems to take forever to win via the MCC, even if you have the point the entire match. |

But how hard is it to call in a dropship and fly it to the enemy home point, drop an uplink on a cylinder and wait for reinforcements?
I realize that you'll probably die of old age waiting on your blues to spawn there but still. Not to mention they won't drop down off of the cylinder and do anything.
I'm just tired of seeing the people playing the game getting blamed for ruining the game. It's insane that people that play the objectives are chided for killing people in an FPS. |

Dominations where the objective flips several times, and it's down to the wire who will win or loose are rare, I agree.
However, there are several matches where the enemy gives all they have, but they can't break through which results in a 100% MCC win. Those games are fun as well, but can give a false sense of lopsided matches. So you need to be careful judging Dom. Skirmish would probably be better as metric, or even Ambush.
With that said, I agree with NextDark it's too early to check for this data. The Dust must settle first with the tiericide and Fireteams changes. |

You can't complain about people getting killed in redline, it takes 2 scouts or an LAV squad to eat up almost all non-slaying WP on anything but skirm and on some skirm maps if one teams hides in the redline after they don't the majority of objectives first you get a team rushing the redline to get a decent payout and actually get, in factional i've been on the side rushing a redline for at least an SP payout because the other team got shut out because tbeir Q-syncs quit because ours bet theirs that day. On pubs i'm usually on the receiving end of this and honestly the redline needs to be reduced, if it weren't possible to be such an easy crutch people would have to eventually man up or sniper up and they'll probably sniper up but at least my coward blues would get what they deserve

And just to add logis really are getting it bad, most expensive suits, the worst pay because it takes team work and actual fighting to get WP, all the situational WP payout and WP payout caps need to be removed, they seriously have gotten short sticked badly and with basic medium frames and scouts having extra equipment slots they may just be a soon dead class in this current condition

Here's how domination works. You can really tell how it's going to play out in the first few moments.
-Get an assault suit and run toward the objective. If you are there first, just leave battle. After hacking some turrets, dropping uplinks on towers the majority of your blues are never going to to approach the objective.
If you are on the side that will end up winning, you get passed by half a dozen players on the way to the point and there are 5 or 6 uplinks out by the time you get there.
-Here the enemy team suffers a few deaths and you'll have to go to the redline to get some kills. That is if you can make it there from all the awesome, contributing to the sure loss snipers showing off their skills. |

Lots of words and effort expended to just say that people play like cowards in Dust. There hasn't been anything done to address it. I agree that there should be a bigger Payout also a survivor bonus if a team is down to only four or less. OK yes about the redline It should be a little farther so a team can regroup and go after the objective.
Now about the squad size You should have went Bigger not smaller, I think going in with 8 people in a match would be much better also it would be easy to fill up a squad if you had the ability to see who is on your team and so fourth.
About two update ago you removed the ability to see who is on your team in matches and the ability to join a squad if there was a slot or two open. I suggest bring that back.
And lastly Fix the Krin Damage Module and The Warbarge doesn't seem to be working properly or at all.

This is how I play Dust. Especially now. Good, tough matches should be treated like holidays. When you see people throwing down, drop your sniper rifle and get in on the action. If you camp the CRU I spawn at, I'm coming in with a proto suit to try to kill as many of you as I can.
I will spawn 5 times trying to take a single point if I have to. I don't like going negative, but I want to win. I don't care if it's an ambush with outnumbered odds.
We have the ability to immediately come back to life in possibly a completely different suit combination and attempt to break the will of your opponent.
Do you not find it awesome to turn a match around just by completely destroying wave after wave after taking a stronghold on an objective? I'll never understand why someone would prefer to watch their wallet grow over this. |

Lots of words and effort expended to just say that people play like cowards in Dust. There hasn't been anything done to address it. Or they try too hard and throw isk efficiency to the wind (Don't lie we all dun it) This is how I play Dust. I'll never understand why someone would prefer to watch their wallet grow over this. Generally I prefer to stay positive but if it's a good close game damn right I'll start throwing ISK at it
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair.

Lots of words and effort expended to just say that people play like cowards in Dust. There hasn't been anything done to address it. Thank You. No chance we'll get 8 man pub squads unless the overall player in battle count increases.
I think there have been an increase, it just depends when you play also, I agree about the K/D ratio for the good squad, team, but that was before the update. OK how about this start anew and add me to a squad and see what happens when there are two Very Underpowered and inexperience people on a team .
I do appreciate the time you took to respond Thank You , now I am going to get on and try again.
