Yeah a lot can be said about a lot of things. Smaller squads means less aggressive gameplay when your losing and more equipment slots available can make drop suits more expensive to field since they equip more modules. Which leads to people playing it safer and giving up if they die to much in the initial 5min of the match. Especially since pay outs on those 10-12 player teams tends to be a lousy 200k or less. If your number 5 on the list you might get as low as 80k.
My biggest complaint you touched on has been around for a while. Uneven teams to begin with that is only made worse when the match maker continues to give more players to the team that already has the most to begin with. I've also noticed that I have been put in more battles in progress lately than before the patch. Usually our MCC has already lost shields when the map loads up. Making it a nearly hopeless situation to try and turn around, even if you were in a squad of 4. Just because 99% of the players in the game gave up. |

Lots of words and effort expended to just say that people play like cowards in Dust. There hasn't been anything done to address it.
I would say increase the payout of isk, put in some kind of refund mechanic like in FW where you get a fraction of your losses or make the SP payouts even more tied to your performance. Right now after about 2-3k WP the SP stops really paying out that much. Money is mostly dependent on killing your enemy, but if your being spawn killed in the red line you can't do much about that. Far to many matches go with one team losing less than 10 clones.
I think a good safe place to spawn would do wonders for preventing the just give up matches. A redline buffer far enough that people can't just run in with scouts and shot gun you as you spawn would be nice on a lot of maps. An added bonus if the red line was pushed back more, or behind more obstacles like hills, people wouldn't be able to red line snipe either. Well not unless the enemy is still trying to push into the redline for kills.
Then I think it's fair, if your trying to spawn kill in the red line you deserve to be killed by a milita sniper riffle. |

As much as I try not to go hunting near the redline, after a few one sided matches I get frustrated and try to find a way to have some form of entertainment in the video game I'm playing.
It's a pretty vicious cycle. People complain that the other team isn't trying, yet they run into the red line to stomp any attempts of recovery. Blasting vehicles out of the air and killing people as they spawn in. On other hand if the other team gave up, you have to do those things not just for fun but to earn WP. If you don't earn at least 150 you won't get any SP for the match...
Which is the other annoying part. Skirms it isn't so bad if a team gives up. With all 5 points the match goes pretty fast. In Domination though it seems to take forever to win via the MCC, even if you have the point the entire match. |
