They aren't going to waste the amount of time needed to ban everyone.
One of two things will happen:
1: all of the offending apex will be removed. People who bought them will be out a few mil ISK. It's going to be treated as though you got scammed.
2: CCP will attempt to revert the bug and remove 5 apex serpents from inventories. If not enough apex, ccp will remove 100,000 LP and 10 mil ISK from the seller. This may result in you working off a negarive balance.
In short CCP IA is evil and you should never ever invoke their attention.

CCP has usually gone with option two when it did not have to do with Aur exclusive items. I think it's because it is easier for them.

This seemed so obvious to me right away. They obviously have a digital paper trail. It won't be difficult for them to figure out who has what. In closed beta, we were able to trade ISK from the pilots. Not only did they figure out which corps it went to, they figured out which mercs it went to after that. And then they took more away

Right when I got one I bought 2 bpos a opus and a serpintene I payed alot of isk for them both then come to find out they was giving 5 out for free so if they take the scout away I will be out of 30million isk and then we will have a problem...

Minor instances are unlikely to be punished. Major and excessive instances are probably going to be.
Being perfectly honest, there's a huge portion of the community that stuck their fingers in this pie, banning everyone involved is pretty unfeasible.
