postapo wastelander wrote:BARAGAMOS wrote:So this weeks numbers bear out yet another abysmal week for new guys and begs the question as o why some aspects of this game have not been addresses. I started keeping track this week of the number of Officer Cadet or higher kills in the feed this week a well. Bear in mind some people have the rank feature turned off, but you'll get the idea. I really appreciate my friend who watches me play. She does most of the tally work. The good news Scramblers only accounted for 81% of my deaths this week. That's down from almost 90% last week, but the one shot sniper kills were way up. Since the even was going on I played a few more games.
456 Kills 578 deaths (so much for being positive k/d) Scrambler rifle family again seems to be the FTM noob guns of choice. So much so I seen three different officer level squads running BPO militia versions in three different games.
Percent officer or higher level name appears in kill feed....73%. Where are the new players? Also remember, some guys don't show their rank..... Now if you add NCO ranks, you kill off another 20% of kills.
HERE IS A BIG STAT THAT MAKES NEW PLAYERS LEAVE Number of time I died before taking three steps from a spawn point: 147!!!!!! So why would anyone want to play a game where 25% +/- of the time you just get spawn killed.
# of times some proto guy 1v1s me and walks AWAY at less than 100 armor.. 89. That's pure suit difference. 79 the number of proto suits I know of that I shot in the back then was instamelted after out playing them...
Another BIG STAT: 93% of all games ended in a red line WTF.
New players cant' advance at a meaningful rate because they are either getting ran over after the chicken **** vets leave a losing team or just get left in the dust while the vets on their team rack up all the WPs in a blowout game. This means slower xp so you can't even get anywhere on the skill chart.
So what you can draw from this, as I am only speced into Cal suits right now, is that shields are useless, the RR is garbage and honestly a new player being put in a match with 3 year vets is idiotic.
Take it as you will, but obviously the developers are either wanting the game to die out or are not competent enough to make changes to prolong it.
You again boyko? Hey i have idea, do you want support and coop to spec up your clone? Just one thingy. Corrosive Synergy do not play with sour loser or abusive talk persons. If you will be good we can give you good time. What do you think? I like the way you talk |

# of times i want to punch OP in face; 143 # of times i want to make OP realise he needs to 'git gud'; 3 # of times i want OP to realise that Dust isn't a carebear game; 9001 Except, it works much better when you actually keep count of real events. You realize this game is dying right? You are one of the reasons why... The point is to read the post and understand what it means. When you started it was a carebear game. The game has changed and no new guys are staying. Maybe dumbasses who troll post are one of the reason?
There was NOTHING carebear about Dust when I started. The game would go through long stretches with crazy OP stuff. You'd see ambushes often where one side didn't get a single kill.
Squading doesn't happen enough. Coordination and the willingness to commit to a fight (more likely to stay in the fight with "peer pressure") were more common.

Learning Coalition
A chat for players to meet vets and sq up, learn mire about tge game. 07, maybe we can squad when I return
You could sit in the learning coalition for a week straight and not see a single squad advertised or a person LFS. It's sad. |

It's sad. That's not my experience when I jump on an alt. There are squads going on in there.
I hope that's the case, but as with D-Uni I haven't seen them in game in months. Perhaps that has to do with matchmaking. But before I joined NF I hung out in those chats to see if I wanted to give back and help newbros. I tried starting squads and I tried LFSing and I never once got either. I inquired with those in the chat and they confirmed that nobody ever squads up in those channels. |

Fox Gaden wrote:BARAGAMOS, I would like to have you in my Corp, Immortal Guides. It is a new player training Corp, which has been around for almost two years now. We try to help new players learn the game and become more successful more quickly. I am interested in you joining because I think we could provide you a better expiriance than the NPC Corp you are currently in, and because you strike me as the type of person who will want to help other new players and pass on what you have learned.
Not to take away from your post, but I'd be more than happy to recommend players to you if you guys are active.
Do you guys qsync FW or anything like that? If so, I'd love to merge some vets with your newbros and try to help them get some LP. |

I'll push every newbro I see to you.
Should I send newbros to the Learning Coalition channel so they can meet up with recruiters?
I'll also be willing to donate a TON of the prepacked fits to your cause when we are able. I'll donate some ISK for skill books and stuff like that if you ever need it, just ask. |

Fox Gaden wrote:IAmDuncanIdaho II wrote:Fox Gaden wrote:Learning Coalition chat has not been used for forming squads as much since I created the Learning Alliance, but I still find squads there or pick up squad members there on occasion. Learning Coalition chat tends to be used more for asking questions about the game, or discussing game mechanics. Good to know, I did not realise this...not that I should as a vet, I assume you update your guys on which channels to use in recruitment threads or in-game chat then, seeing as I only see that one chat every now and then. Immortal Guides does not have a recruitment channel. As a new player training Corp the only applications we reject are from people with names which constitute hate speech, so there is no need to interview people before accepting their app. If they want to get to know us before joining, they can do so in Learning Coalition chat, as I try to get all my members to join Learning Coalition chat. I also try to encurage my members to ask questions in Learning Coalition chat so that new players who are not in the Corp can also see their question and the resulting answers, in order to learn from them. But if they ask in Corp chat, I will answer there instead. I also invite new players to Learning Coalition chat who have not yet joined my Corp, or who have already joined another player Corporation, as it is still the best place for them to ask questions and get advice about the game. Oh, and I also encourage Vets to join Learning Coalition if they are interesting in helping new players. I'll add the channel the next time I'm on. |
