They possibly slightly killed the incentive to go Proto now :/
I fear jumpy Suits will go out of control. CCP basically just reduced the cost of running those things. Now all you need is an Advanced or Basic Suit with the now soon to be more useful CPU / PG Modules.

Do recall those mods were modified to consume PG / CPU (the opposite of what they give)
Also recall that such suits are sacrificing quite a bit for that cheap value, as more expensive suits would not need the CPU / PG modules, thus allowing them to fit modules that would be more useful to performance.

All you need are 2 Kin Kats, 3 Myros, a BPO or Advanced PLC and a Flaylock.. |

The main reason the jumpy suits work so well is the same reason strafing was so powerful and before that speedy scouts. Simply put avoiding bullets has pretty much always been the best tactic in this game. Weapons do tons of dmg and your armor/shields are weak and flimsy. The difference from the best defensive proto fit in the game vs a starter fit is maybe a second or two more life, in a 1 on 1 battle. Never mind it rarely stays a 1 on 1 battle for long.
On the other hand a fast scout fit that can make at least half the shots miss them has a greater chance of survival than the toughest of heavy in a fire fight. I'm sure if more people used the PS move or perhaps mice and keyboard this wouldn't' be an issue. With controllers though you have to deal with X and Y scroll speed. Turn it up high enough to keep up with the scouts and your accuracy goes to crap. Keep it low for fine adjustments to your aim and they'll run rings around you.
Never mind the hit detection problems. It's not as bad as strafing was, but some times bullets fail to hit jumpers or hit area's other than you aim at. Headshots when you hit their toe, or body shots when you hit the head are pretty common. If you have a slow ROF your pretty much toast against jumpers. Looking straight up at a guy jumping over you is a pretty hard thing to do with the controls of this game, let alone hit the guy.
I love the tactical aspects of the jump mods, being able to get to new locations, jump over those annoying railings you just can't quite clear normally etc. I just wish the combat aspects of the mod would go away to some degree. Perhaps increase the stamina cost of jumping so you can't spam it constantly, or at least require a stamina mod to help yourself recover. |

Less cpu / pg... So nobody will see a basic medium minmatar with 3 complex myofibs plasma canon allotec and solar flayloc... You will need a "proto" to do that.

This ran through my head as I slept. But don't forget, it's only a buff to use basic stuff. You still won't be able to do proto like fits.
There is only enough slots to do basic gear in basic suit, adv on adv and so forth.

This will give more versality to std and adv suits. Very possitive change.
About blue bottles. You need to know why they are so 'effective' :
- They break hit detection, just like you could do while strafing - you can't move your camera fast enough to catch them

The crazy speed of Commandos made repping them with the repair tool nearly impossible. They were constantly breaking lock for me. |
