So today, I was running my Assault ck.0 melee fit and I ran up to an uplink to punch it dead. Unfortunately, right when I punched it, the link stayed, but I got a +50. I killed someone who hadn't even appeared on my screen yet. I felt bad and sent him an apology, but that's some BS. People should at least get the chance to run when they see someone right there. He hadn't even come out of the link yet.. Please fix this.

Oh dear god, yes they need to do this.
Also, which Dev thought it was funny to make only one spawn on several of the Acquisition maps?
A single tank can spawn camp an entire team.

you cannot deal or recieve damage for 3 seconds unless you move within the 3 second period. Does not include looking around.

Count to 3 aloud and you will see my point 2seconds is a fairer number it allows for the spawned to quickly survey his area of any threats while also being fair to the camper who is leaving his self open to other threats to deal with the new one(person spawning in)

People shouldn't get immunity. They simply shouldn't load into the battlefield until all the information is ready for them to load. That is they should load all at once.

You just happened to punch someone who was cloaked. We don't know whether he was lining his gun up with your head getting ready to pull the trigger or was still loading in. A second or two later and he would have uncloaked before you punched. A second or two earlier and he would have seen your red dot near the uplink (because they have a small sensor radius now) and may have chosen not to spawn there.
If you had been shooting at the Uplink you would not have killed him. If you had been fluxing the uplink you would not have killed him. But melee or a Locus Grenade would kill.
I often chose to spawn at Uplinks or CRU's that have enemy close by so that I can ambush the camper. It is a risk for me to spawn, but not as much as before the spawn cloak and small sensor radius were added, and the cloak gives me a bit of an advantage over the camper.
When I run Logi I always leave a Remote Explosive on any Drop Uplink I place, so I encourage you to continue to punch Uplinks. When I play Logi I need all the free kills I can get.
Hand/Eye coordination cannot be taught. For everything else there is the Learning Coalition.

Spawn invincibility should only be at ground spawn, followed by a unmanned drone response to sweep and clean red dots. MCC could use one of it's cannons to fire on red dots at the ground spawn.
Tons of things that could be done.
Over 60+ Million SP and full proto in all Caldari Suits. Dust just won't die on PS3/Xbox. Dustin since 6/29/2012

But since I'm one of the people who always punches links, people will die to this. I have died to this, I have killed with this and each time it happens, it pisses me off because it's unfair.

Seems fair? Yes, it sucks to be killed randomly at spawn by someone who was just trying to melee the uplink. That's accidental, but a very rare occurrence. If you actually felt bad about accidentally killing someone who was potentially totally unprepared, that's great. It means you're not an asshat and likely don't camp. I like you. The problem isn't being melee'd, though, because, as I said, very rare occurrence. The problem is people who purposely camp with one shot capability weapons, like REs, a forge gun, or Nova Knives. Especially since the only ones who can survive heavy damage weapons are Sentinels specifically built up to take heavy amounts of damage. And even they are now at incredibly depleted health and are much more vulnerable than they would normally be.
I'm sure everyone has been spawn camped in at least one point in their Dust career. Hell, I just got out of a battle where someone was camping a spawn with REs, but they were placing them high up on the wall so the explosion would catch the player but not the uplink.
Regardless, though, a second or two of invulnerability would do wonders. You could even write it lore-wise as 'still travelling through the worm-hole' and 'seeing what's on the other side before you materialize'. |

The load time is an issue and invulnerability on links isn't the answer. Invulnerabiliy on emplaced spaces where the devs made a placement choice is fair but player placed links should have extra risk to the reward of choice spawn points

Stop letting people spawn within so many meters of a red..... Then no immunity is needed. Spawning into a killfest is going to get you killed even if you had 5 seconds of immunity. However, not being able to spawn into it would fix the issue and prevent most spawn camping. Just make it a radius of 10 meters and be done. While you are at it, prevent droplinks from being placed too near each other. Force us to space them out. |

I met the dickiest commando yesterday, spawn camped me by meleeing. Commando's melee is nearly OHK for all suits.
