Hi all,
Here's my collected thoughts for this week -
I wish the irrelevant menu options weren't there any more Things like armour options for high slots when adjusting fittings and heavy weapon slot options for none heavy suits, I guess this will be for an overall game clean up further down the line but I see no mention of this stuff on the timeline yet.
Modules applying to fittings Similar to the above when you select to change a module and the stat change doesn't show until you go up and or down from the item and it 'refreshes' just an annoyance like the above point - again, probably part of some distant planned tidy up
Any chance of more points for killing the squad lead? Slightly higher amount of reward points for Squid leads would incentivise targeting them - and likely increase their protection as a result leading to a more tactical game play style.
One of each fit for a squad? Would be an idea for a game mode, sort of like ambush, but each fireteam has one unique suit each and they have to synergise together to make the most of their specialities.
Third person camera perspective? Just another thought, could again be another game mode, would make it feel a little like futuristic 'Socom'/'conflict' game which would be pretty cool and wouldn't need a great deal of changing? yes maybe weapon handling and the like but level design etc. is all in place
Minor warbarge strikes need a massive improvement Either they pierce through where they are requested destroying every piece of equipment in the columnar path, or they change the overview/targetting map to be flat, so you can place it accurately.
and finally -
Improve the breach variants of certain guns Namely the breach mass driver and Flaylock. NO-ONE uses these items, most try them as they seem good on paper, but soon find out why no-one else uses them, for good reason. Flaylock okay, high risk, high reward but generally you're attacking someone standing still and with full shields, sure it might do enough damage to take some of the shields down, but unless they aren't paying attention, you aren't going to hit them with the second shot. Mass driver needs a much flatter arc and vastly increased projectile speed to make it more usable I think, again, you'd struggle to hit someone directly if they aren't standing still.

Well with this new update of strafing being nerfed who knows people might start using it but as of now they suck. Increase the blast radius but reduce the splash damage. This might work i guess.
I guess we'll have to wait and see, but I would imagine CCP can see the stats of the weapon use or kill stats per weapon to see what's top of the pops and conversely, what is never used and figure out why not.. |

Further to this - I don't think the Mass drivers themselves are the issue, nor is the splash damage a problem; the problem is the breach variant is clearly aimed at direct damage rather than splash - given the higher direct damage and reduced splash (same for the breach Flaylock), yet there is no other modification to the weapon - apart from it's inherent stats that encourage or otherwise benefit a different play style.
My point is that for the breach to be effective at it's intended role: direct hits, it needs to have a flatter arc or a much faster projectile speed - or better still - BOTH! That way you are more likely to hit someone else directly and get the benefit of the increased direct damage. |

Potentially in the new update, but I wouldn't hold your breath |
