The Repair Tool should be disrupted and unable to function for five seconds. The cloak should also be overheated and people should be unable to activate remote explosives.

Some good ideas, really adding to the depth of the flux.
Stopping rep tools is the most interesting to me. Would really give a way to break through those rep walls.
Preventing cloak is kind of overkill to an already weak piece of equipment, but I can respect it.
Preventing REs from being activated I'm not a huge fan of as I don't see a terribly huge amount of situations where that will come up/be useful. But I can live with it.
But just to add another:
Prevent/drop active scans from scanners- you're hit and all those scans you had immediately drop off. Could really help passive scanning. |

Can we have fluxes disable RE's and not, you know, blow them up... -_-

Terry Webber wrote:Even though I'm usually a support player, this could make things a little more of a challenge. That was actually what made me reccomend these changes. Logis are supposed to be combat medics and or combat engineers, but they usually act like they are above combat and tend to believe that they themselves are just fodder when up against the enemy. Though they have weapon and grenade slots for a reason.
During Chromosome virtually everyone understood that being a Logistics player meant that they had to do double the work of their teammates. Not only were they using their equipment before anyone needed to ask, but they fired their gun with their teammates any moment they could. Simply hiding behind their allies wasn't how things were done back then. Often the Logistics player was the best player on the team because they had the skill to manage multiple responsibilities at once. Now they tend to be the weakest player; they are the water boys that hand you a water bottle after half time instead of the teammate running along side you into the fray.
That's what led to to type this post. The spirit of combat and camaraderie.

Having scans cleared if you flux the scanner makes no sense. Scanners work by tagging a target, once the scanner hits you, the scanner's work is done. how about a flux hitting a friendly who is scanned clears the scan off of them?
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.

That is a decent suggestion, and if CCP ever reads this post I hope they consider it. Though, I definitely believe that active scanners should be unable to scan for a few moments after the user is fluxed. That way if you catch someone with a scanner off guard with a flux grenade you can kill them without them being able to light you and your friends up on the map for everyone to see.

Well I imagine once you scan someone and tag them the scanners work may be done but you as the one who used it are transmitting that information via TacNet the entire time. You are hit by a flux means you stop transmitting.
Or at least that's how I imagine them working since there is different timers for different scanners. |

The active scanner and cloak both have to recharge between uses anyway, so that seems very doable. The repair tool doesn't have its own capacitor, so I don't know about that. Why shouldn't the flux grenade also disable all weapons for the same amount of time? Why just the repair tool?
If this game was fun, I wouldn't be playing it.

Interesting. I'm all for it but I'm concerned that it would make the utility of Flux Grenades over-powering compared to Locus Grenades.
+1 either way.
Some people ask us, "Where do you call home?"
And we say, "Home is where the bullets fly. Where the shells land."

Interesting ideas.
I especially like the cloak disruption.
+1
Edit: I've also thought it would be neat if fluxes temporarily messed up your radar.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to give only the higher tiered fluxes these goodies, as currently there is no reason to run anything but a basic Flux grenade.

Thank you Galvan. I feel we have had this conversation before.
Flux does enough on it's own, I think an EMP grenade with these functions being introduced would be good. Make it the Cal Grenade so we can move towards grenade parity.

Damn, forgot about AV nade Flux is electromagnetic, and honestly I want these grenade effects to exist. Just feel that it is a lot of power to add to the Flux. They are the most versatile Grenade in my opinion.

Which is ironic because the Gallente aren't traditionally dealers of the EM damage type. However the only reservation about this I have is that adding in these admittedly pretty cool ideas seems to give the grenade a 'does so much why not use it?' feel.

Thank you Galvan. I support that. By that last bit I assume you are speaking of the RE detonator rather than the Remote Explosives themselves.
