So I went through the ps3 and ran the test and my speeds are fluctuating between 8.3-10.1 down and 2.7 up.
I have century link in which my ps3 is connected through my network by my router to the router of century link.
I would love to be hard/ direct wired to ps3 but that would look trashy with that ether net cord running throughout the house.
I'm trying to reduce my lag? Any suggestions? Are speeds ok or do they even matter?
I could route ps3 to century link skipping my network router

I could route ps3 to century link skipping my network router You need to check your ping times as well. I think your actual speeds are just fine. Personally I am running my PS3 through a 5ghz ethernet bridge which brings me very close to simulating an actual wired connection. How many devices are connected to your wireless network? Forcing your router to rotate through sharing with many devices can cause packet transfer times between you and the battle server to increase which can also give a feeling of lag. This would only become an issue if you had several devices on your network that were running a fair amount of data at the time.
Through the century link connection is just the tv's and then my network.
My network has 1 laptop, 2 PC'S, 3 kindles, 2 Samsung galaxy phones.

Through the century link connection is just the tv's and then my network. My network has 1 laptop, 2 PC'S, 3 kindles, 2 Samsung galaxy phones. You are in the same position I was in a while back. Home routers are not really great at handling all of that while also trying to handle the packet transfers that take place for gaming. I switched to a dual band router with bridge and connected my old router through it for all of my mobile devices and laptops and saw great improvement in all of my devices. Here is my setup. Dual band router. 5 ghz ethernet bridge hardwired to my PS3 and desktop PC.I then connected my old router by ethernet cable to the new router and made sure that the two routers were separated by at least 4 channels to avoid any interference. While it may have only affected Dust by the slightest amount it seriously improved my PC games and download times thanks to 5 ghz being able to provide a much higher throughput.
Thank you. I'm gonna start by uninstalling.
Is it that noticeable? Worth the time?
