One of my favorite aspects of EvE was the skill queue. Buy a skill, inject it, and then queue up how ever many levels you want while you just forget and play.

If I'm honest I much prefer the way dust does it. Waiting for skills to finish in Eve was horrible and tedious and very often I'd find something else I wanted to train and just switch leaving numerous skills half trained. At least this way the skill is done as soon as you want it as long as you have the spare sp.

At least this way the skill is done as soon as you want it as long as you have the spare sp. What meant was you select a skill you want to upgrade and from that point all the sp you earn is dumped into it till you reach the level you want. The reason I suggested this is because I often just spend my sp on whatever is available and this would allow me to be more organized on what I want.

WHAT???
And not open the skill tree again for however much time?
HERESY!
Seriously though as an optional feature this would rock.
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

this could be a good idea say passive sp could go towards the queue and sp erned in battle would be used as you see fit or could go towards the queue if you prefer
although if it was possible to simply put x amount of sp into a skill and not have to have all to points to take it to the next skill level that would be nice too
the skill would level up once you put enough sp into it but you can slowly invest in it instead of having to farm all the isk in one go just to mess up and put it somewhere else by accident or use it up before you get enough to level up the skill you wanted
I know that happens to me all the time and its part of the reason that I barely have any skills maxed, every time I have enough sp I instead choose to use it to level multiple of my low level skills instead of the ones i really wanted

I'd imagine the Skill Queue would work something like:
- Select Skill
- Select "Queue Skill"
- Popup says: "Both active and passive SP earned (up to skill cost) can be automatically added. You can stop this function at any time by deselecting 'Queue Skill'. If a skill is deselected before a level is reached, all SP for that level will be refunded as 'Unallocated SP'. Please select which form of SP you would like to use for your skill queue".
- Dropbox offers the options: "Active SP", "Passive SP" and "All Earned SP (Active & Passive SP)"
- Popup says: "You may only have X skills queued at one time - Would you like to proceed?"
- The first three skills you are queuing have a flashing animation over them to indicate that they are being queued at a glance. Brighter animations correspond to order in skill queue. "Skill Queue" could also be be a new tab in which you can check all of the skills you are queuing, re-arrange their order, etc
And then players can play without going back to the skills page all of the time. Coupled with the recent progression updates, this might be a useful feature for new players. Just by playing, they will see the progress bars on their suit increase over time. Once they get a better grasp on the system, they may stop queuing skills to have more agency.
Additionally, this would be useful for vets who want to just play until they unlock Prof. 5 for a weapon, or for a player who wants to wants to train Corporation management while he or she uses an Omega booster for a different skill. Finally, this could be a useful way to manage SP even while away from your PS3 - Set a skill up in the queue and come back to a slightly more well trained merc
