So if we were to say, give the 'Caldari Medium Dropsuits' skill a bonus, what would it be?
Would it borrow the Assault Suit Bonus from 'Caldari Assault Dropsuits' and get a 5% reduction to PG/CPU of light/sidearm weapons and grenades per level, since it is functionally a bonus-less Assault suit?
Or would it be something more general that would lead into both Assault Dropsuits -AND- Logistics Dropsuits with, say, a 2% reduction to PG/CPU of light/sidearm weapons, grenades, -and- equipment? A comparatively smaller bonus that applies to progression in both roles?
Or would it simply reflect the racial bonuses of either?
If the design goal for NPE is to have players progress with Frames through these Loadouts mentioned in the new devblog, what skill bonuses could we assign to those frame skills to make them more applicable as they progress to a role/specialization?

Fitting things is harder on the new guys. They don't have their CPU/PG skills to V as well as Light Weapon V and [Insert rifle here] Optimization V. If the goal is progression for new players then I would say a small fitting bonus would be preferred.
2% reduction to CPU/PG for weapons (sidearm, light, heavy, grenade) and equipment seems fair. It doesn't provide any bonuses that lean strongly toward any one role.

Actually, yanno, just thought about. What about +1 PG/+10 CPU per level? That's round-about the cumulative bonus of Assault dropsuits' reduction to weaponry and probably a bit less on the logi spectrum, but it is a broad enough bonus that they could do whatever they wanted with it.

Flat bonuses always worry me because they don't scale with changes made to base CPU/PG. If a balancing pass is made on basic frames' CPU/PG then I would feel better about it.

I would give basic dropsuits a big bonus to racial PG/CPU to make them fit better than assaults, but still not better.

If you look at the screenshots in the progression devblog you will see that the minmitar medium basic frame description describes it as having 2 equipment slots.
I feel this is a good way to go instead of bonuses |
