Well a bit of good news.
I've managed to find a really talented 3D artist who's gonna look at the images available of the rifles/pistols of dust and if CCP don't mind us making them available we're gonna have a look at getting some half scale test models.
Something else quite exciting is we've got some outlines for Airsoft electrics and we're looking into making the weapons fully functional 1:1 airsoft weapons

If you would post some pics when you get them finished, I'd appreciate it. ^_^
Yeah i'll try get some pics posted when he's finished the designs. we're gonna keep it simple at first, probs Combat Rifle and Plasma Rifle and SMG as they're basic designs and there is a lot of concept art and high res images of each.
FOr Laser RIfle we thought of using a laser pointer but y'know some idiots gonna have some buggers eye out with it so perhaps may scale one down and make it into a handheld laser pointer as well as 1:1 rifle
To give you an idea of quality of work here is the Thorn Exotic handcannon from Destiny we printed/painted. its a standard display model we did to gather interest in the work at UK game Expo at the end of may

Mind to send me some HAV in 1:1 to test or siege CCP?
i'd love to try get the HAV's done. we have someone pretty good with electronics so i'd liek to butcher one of them USB controlled missile launchers onto a gunnlogi to make an interesting desktop toy
As for a Forge Gun our idea for that was gonna be using paintballs instead, specifically them large paint bombs some places have. we thought it more appropriate... or perhaps a frozen orange launcher pmsl

I am still surprised every day seeing the wonders that 3D printing has unlocked. You are inspiring me to look back in to my desire to create a USB hub of my Coercer to replace the Rifter that CCP included in the collector's edition.
the 3d files are readily available on thingiverse. if you can open the rifter up and hollow the coercer file correctly it'd be a simple job.
its basically what we'rre gonna do with the airsoft stuff. get the layout of the pistol and assault rifle electrics and just cut the wells out and away you go. simple process if you have the experience.

Wow thanks big time for this. I think I may make it as a case for one of my Raspberry PIs. Now to just find someone in my area with a 3D printer. Craigslist for the win.
tbh once printed they're pretty light so postage isn't too much. message me ingame and i can give you details to contact me if/when you complete it and can sort some pricing out for a fellow merc

Should have a few pics of the 3D model for the Assault Rifle in a few weeks. Other projects have taken priority but we're getting back on track. Also getting Nova Knives with glow in the dark blade edges

Satyr Dante wrote:You say fully functioning airsoft...i say means to captor CCP HQ
at first it'll just be a 1:1 replica. the airsoft component will come at a later date. same as with the Nova Knives, at first the edges will just be glow in the dark red, blue or green filament. eventually they'll be LEDs that light up with a switch. perhaps distinguish between a 'standard' and 'premium' version of th emodel

yeah doing something that big would be ridiculous

M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens.
Slowly working our way through the weapons we previously built. Still waiting on the design for the Assault Rifle, few more tweaks before its right

NOT 1:1 yeah doing something that big would be ridiculous That's only 1 m long. The guns I'm referencing are 3 m. Also- I have no idea what you meant with that post because it either means you were boasting about building them at that size as if that was I was considering "overly large" (which would not be full scale and therefore not what I was talking about) Or you were saying that building them at full scale would be ridiculous. completely opposing subject matter as you can see.
wouldn't be so bad building a full size forge gun. i'd probs have to wait til i picked up a D5S (2' build space) to make it easier but from looking at scale a forge gun is about 2m long and the way the printer works would mean that even though its large it wouldn't really weigh a great deal unless it was converted into a paint cannon. if it was just a 1:1 replica 2m long by say 50cm tall/wide it'd probs weigh in about 4-5kg. The Conduit F3 is just over 2' long and weighs less than a bag of sugar

Get three other people to wear the ones you will not.
Go to E3. You'll know if a DUST bunny sees you when we A) Give you a look or B) Makes a B-Line towards you.
we have thought about going to fanfest with a few of the items. one idea i had was to get the dropsuits if weapon in hand on a small display plynth and have intergangeable heads so peopel who order can send in pics of themselves and we'd paint the heads so you can have the figurin either with helmet or with your own mercs head

Also CCP dust is a great game but there id no merchandise anywhere .I know you do eve stuff so would it possible to devote some resources for dust stuff Eg epic T-shirts, this would make you some money for one but would also advertise dust at the same time
Custom/Fantasy Airsoft weapons are expensive anyway. i saw a pulse rifle from Aliens which was around -ú450/$600 and not all them come with the mechanism. What we'd be providing would be a painted and assembled shell that a generic airsoft mechanism can fit in. A fully assembled/painted rifle is about -ú350/$500 so cheaper than what most places will do for a fantasy shell.
also, we've just been featured on Replica Prop Forum for our Future War Cult from Destiny that we completed recently. basically we'd be selling that but split down the middle so you can pout airsoft gearing into it and then screw it together

Handgun sized prints are usually -ú150--ú200 depending on size/complexity. then the cost of putting the electronics in it to light it up. I'm waiting on the design for the AR currently, the guy who is doing the work is busy doing other projects he's had before this one and doing bits inbetween for me. another idea we had was to make a handheld Laser Rifle with a laser pointer in it as a fancy laser pointer similar to the old star trek phaser ones
