Based on the short amount (3-4 hours) of play there are somethings that REALLY bug me. Some can be fixed relatively easily others might need more work.
1. levels LOOK bland. The colors of both the HUD and the actual level are very muted and make it difficult to tell one thing from another. Add some color, even if it's a barren world. One of the biggest things is that all HUD icons are a light blue. Changing this from blue to red or yellow or even giving the player control of the color for HUD elements.
2. What is the criteria of seeing an enemies waypoint on your HUD? It seems to be based on how long ago you saw them but im not sure. (i suppose this is more of a question then feedback).
3. Lag, I'm sure it's mostly because of the new beta invites but the lag makes this unplayable at times. This wouldn't be horrid if it was just in game but pulling up skills or the market take 2-10 seconds at times and to run through so many menus and look at info on the guns and such is just painful.
4. Loving the lack of auto-aim (or at least loving how dumbed down it is). Played a lot of MAG so it makes me feel right at home on the battlefield.
5. Ground vehicle controls feel horridly clunky bordering on undriveable, add the lag to this and they are undriveable.
6. A compare tool, since we can only open the info on 1 weapon, dropsuit, vehicle, what have you, a compare tool would be amazing. And not just for 1 or 2 but as many weapons as the player wants to compare.
7. Please please PLEASE be careful with AUR items. When i see an item category with 1 isk item and 2 aur items it makes me nervous about how much players will or will not need AUR to do well on the battlefield. Furthermore I had seen an item with both an isk version and an aur version, the aur version required something like 40 or 50 less power to equip. That's a bit steep of an advantage if you ask me.
8. More use to the tactical map. (i might be wrong here so work with me) It would be nice to be able to set personal waypoints or have a commanding officer who can rally the battle. Right now navigating without a team with mics is impossible. Even an addition like being able to call out enemies or simple orders using the D-pad might help. I hate to bring up another game but in MAG a squad could work together very well even if no one had a mic and while I know many eve players will object (TS, vent ect are almost required to join any corp) as both a PC and console player I can vouch that the MAG style system worked very well.
9. This is another question, this time about AUR items. Do these work similar to normal items, as in you lose one every time you die? Regardless of the answer this MUST be made clear for both isk items and AUR items otherwise you will lose a lot of players real fast after their prized buy disappears as soon as they die.
10. grenades are a bit clunky. Do they have a timer as soon as you pull them out so you can cook them? Also explosions are minimal in appearance but also I remember a control hub of some kind exploding and making no noise. Really pulled me out of the moment =/
I understand the game is still in beta, but to draw ire from all those who want this game to do well it feels much more like an alpha build then a beta build. I have high hopes for this game and knowing CCP with a few solid years behind it it will be, but so far I don't know. |
