While you're in Eve Online, you can alway join D-UNI's sister corp Eve University [E-UNI] which is far more developed than we are. Alternatively you can join Red vs Blue [RvB] which are more PvP focused.

You can pay subscription with ISK buying PLEX, for that you need to use few reliable sources which you cannot assess until training necessary skills and some help from alliance generous members which is rare. So at least 5 month if you start skilling since day one in correct gear. Besides don't do AURA missions for newbies :D, you lose time on that, specially Dagan. As always you need to learn since day one from someone willing to teach you how to PLEX. FW was broken and isn't a reliable source of income any more, among other bad things that changes brought. Good luck o/

My advice to you - unsolicited - as someone old enough to be your grandfather, is to immediately delete the game. You really don't need to immerse yourself in this virtual universe populated primarily with sociopaths intent on taking you for all you have. In all seriousness, spend your time in the real world at this stage of your life. Waste this time now and you can never get it back.

Listen to guy. Take his advice. Go to the real world and establish yourself as a corporate lawyer from Washington DC and then progress towards becoming an internet spaceship mogul like This Guy.
Remember, that not all of those who play Eve Online are just little kids. According to CCP games, the vast majority of Eve Online subscribers happen to be between 25-35 years of age as of right now. Many of them, including this other guy happen to be highly established in their real lives as either engineers, programmers, Washington DC corporate lawyers, and even real-world diplomats and day traders.
Yeah, Eve Online is no kiddies game.

I joined them shortly before I quit years ago. Had a blast with them, but the game was already a bit stale for me by that point. I had spent years in null-space already and PvP, which was all I cared about, wasn't holding my attention.
The downside to RvB is they are usually at war with someone, so any other aspect of the game becomes immensely more difficult. So if you want to try mining or missioning, do that first and see if you like it. I suggest E-Uni for that as said before by Maken. Alternatively, you can use an alt.
I would also check out Agony Unleashed. They are a null-sec PvP school. They were a top-notch crew many years ago. I'm a bit biased, as that's where I got my start in null. They fell for a bit when I was with them after their founder and CEO quit due to RL issues. Last time a checked (a year or so ago,) they where still alive and kicking though.

Disclaimer- I'm using a Mac=ƒìÄ
Update- game just froze while making character.
Question- I have a dust corp, can I join it on eve? Or something similar?
No you can not use your Dust character.
Yes you can make alliances but it takes quite a bit of time to train the skills. It also takes 1 billion Eve ISK to pay Concord as well as monthly fees based on the number of corporations in your alliance.
When it comes to game time you can either pay cash for game time which is cheaper than plex. You can also purchase plex on the player market with ISK to add game time. Currently the price of plex hovers between 8 and 900 million Eve ISK.
You can also purchase plex for cash and sell them on the market if you want more ISK. For a newbie one plex will give you enough ISK to cover your in game expenses for several months.
Yes you can join your Dust corp almost exactly like you would in Dust. The mechanics are only very slightly different. I would not recommend you join your Dust corp tho. In Eve it is very important to become part of a player corporation so that you have people to help you learn.
Generally I tell new players to the game to plan on paying cash for the first 3 months while they train skills and learn their way around the game. After that it just depends how much grind time you have if you will be able to sustain game time on ISK alone. |

It's possible to play EVE for free buying PLEX with ISK, but it's not worth the time, and is exceedingly difficult when you're first starting out with low skills. You can mow your neighbor's lawn and make the cost of your subscription a lot faster than you can grind it in EVE.

In other words, mowing your neighbor's lawn is like mining in Eve Online. It's a boring profession but man it's rewarding and low-risk. You can even start a corporation on it.

Market trading is another thing to go for, but you'll have to dedicate a lot of time training up almost all of the trade skills and you have to figure out which items are lucrative for trading with good margins and movement. It's mainly for those looking to make a little bit of ISK on the side while mission running, mining, or pvping.
