Now, let's look at Gaijin: developers of War Thunder, one of CCP's biggest rivals in the free to play market. Gaijin devs are just assholes. They monitor threads on their feedback forum, and then decide which threads can even be seen. They aren't removing threads here, they're stopping them from being posted in the first place. If you post something they don't like, no matter how you right it, they make sure the rest of the community never sees it.
Most of what they're blocking is blatant, nonsensical imbalance. I can understand one vehicle being historically better than the others, but they mess with non-historical stats (such as cost), so that American and Russian vehicles are the best choice. Funny, because that's where their studios are at. They also like to change their excuses for tweaking historical stats. Sometimes they say "This is a game, fun is more important than accuracy", while other times it's "This is a simulator game, accuracy is more important than balance"; again, usually this is used to **** over the axis in some way or another. Recently, they even added a physics update that managed to cause all german tanks to start glitching up and taking damage from even slightly bumpy terrain, yet every other country was fine.
TL;DR, at least CCP isn't greedy like EA, or incredibly biased and forum-censoring like Gaijin.
Russian Tanks were some of the best and most advanced in the second world war. The soviets churned out fresh tank designs almost weekly which always kept the slowing German forces under pressure during Operation Barbarossa.
American tanks if I recall correctly were also very well designed. Initially it was their 75mm guns that made them less than efficient against the more heavily armoured German Panzers however this realistically was down to a report from the Department of Ordinance that suggested that Tiger armour could be penetrated by Brittish 6 pdr cannon.
While true that was at very close range against the weakest sections of side armour.
After the implementation of the 76mm cannon in the later years of the way the Sherman punched far above it's weight being significantly more numerous than the German Heavy tanks.
That being said certain Axis tanks like the Tiger H1, Tiger II, Jagdpathers, and StuG variants are incredibly powerful when used correctly with lighter tanks being more often than not unable to penetrate frontal StuG armour. And when it comes to Tigers......well they slug with the best of them in open country.
