I'd like to see a signature radius mechanic in the game, much like in eve that a higher radius makes them easier to hit. vehicles with the higest, followed by heavies, assault, logistics, and scouts. (in much the same way as BS, BC/C, and frigs |

You do know what "signature radius" means right? Radar signature. Doesn't make it any easier to hit, just easier to lock onto. Would probably make some stuff easier to see on the map though, but that's about it. |

Not really applicable in the kind of Dynamic system you are working with in this style of shooter =/ |

From evelopedia: "Turret Signature Resolution" is a number qualifying the originally intended target size (in meters) of your gun turret. The smaller the number, the better your chance to hit will be.
"Target Signature Radius" (in meters) should be self-explanatory. The larger your target, the better your chance to hit will be.

From not-having-my-head-up-my-ass-opedia: EVE uses computer controlled turrets. The resolution is how small of a thing they can see, the signature is how big it looks on their scanners. Have something bigger than the smallest thing you can see, and guess what? You can see it and target it. If you can target it you can shoot it. Now, last I checked an assault rifle didn't need targeting lock in order to fire. Has that changed in the last few minutes that I haven't been aware of? The weapons work differently, so they have different mechanics. Now if you'd stop quoting useless information that doesn't even back up your argument, maybe you'd take the time to learn something. |

No, I understand fully what you're "getting at". You misunderstand the game mechanic. You're looking at a wiki that describes how it effectively works in one game and assuming that's how the mechanic actually works. Then you're further distorting it thinking it would even apply to this one. Then, you get your little quote out so you can prove how right you are when you're still so far off base they need to send a scouting party to find your point. A radar signature isn't a magical bullet magnet. Not even sci-fi physics let that happen. You just get seen more easily. Q.E.D. |
