why on earth would you do that?, it removes any and all point of progression through lower suits?, everyone running about in a bpo or proto would just ruin the battlefield entirely, i might as well play battlefield, i can see some pro points to it in an fps, but simply why tiered suits is what seperates dust from other fps, do this and you'll stand a good chance of killing your game

okay, first of all, i usually run adv or a fw bpo, cause i'm making isk for me and SVER, so i'm not really what you call a 'proto stomper', i'm primarily a logi to allow my squad and team to perform better, if i'm in a full proto assault suit it means either i'm chasing down someone who has been trolling me, or cause it's a close fight and my team need more shooters

Since it's free to play, all your complaints are rendered pointless on the large scale beyond just griping to yourself.
Also, basic to proto you will still have the huge gap in CPU and PG, making it so you can't fit your basic like you can your proto still.
This will allow newer guys to have a chance to compete against others when they play, how about you make a new character and run up against someone with 50+mil sp? Or 80mil+... Heck, we'll go as low as 20 mil. Point is, it's like using a whack-a-mole bat to take down a brick wall.
well either you or i have seriously misunderstood the term 'tiericide' , my understanding of the term is that ALL tiers are removed leaving ONLY 1 level of suit to choose, as to what level i cannot say, but there will be NO STANDARD, ADVANCED or PROTO, it will be 1 level with only the modules seperating suits, and you believe this will help newer players, on no my friend it will not, it will more than likely be worse, cause the vets will always be in the same suit level as new players, but with way more hp and firepower, whereas of right now a new player can get a proto suit with minimal skills (fw/aurum) fight a 100mill sp vet, but with the vet in a adv or basic bpo say, and win easily, put everyone in the same suit, and, wellit'll be feeding time at the zoo for the vets and the newer players will be dinner. I have said this before: The only way you can make the game better for new players is to have a 'starter fit only' battle mode where our suit upgrades DONOT COUNT, this would be great for new players and those wanting to grind isk, and allow progression to the other modes when and IF they want, to do this i would merge skirm with fw, keep ambush and dom the same, and make acqusistion the starter fit mode, yes it really is that simple, and it would allow new players to build isk, sp, and battle experience, without getting 'proto stomped', This really is the only way tohelp newer players and this game, because in the 'starter fit mode', the only difference between the players would be themselves, also there would have to be no vehicles in this mode, DONE (much better than 'tiericide')

There is still progression, there would be more fitting variety for STD and ADV dropsuits. That's a good thing considering that prior to tiericide your options for a STD dropsuit were: eHP or die instantly. Advanced was slightly better than that. You might fit one extra module that wasn't for tanking.
THERE WILL BE NO 'LOWER TIERED SUITS', THEY WILL ALL BE THE SAME WITH ONLY THE MODULES SEPERATING THEM. read the dev's posts, 'tiericide' means to get rid of all levels of suits, no proto, no adv, no standard ALL THE SAME

However, the tiers will instead be based on CPU/PG, each tier keeping the same amount that they currently have. I personally have never really supported it, but right now I see the pros outweighing the cons. I was following you until you said something about a newb proto beating a vet adv/basic. Not true at all, any vet will mop the floor with a newbie, it'll just cost the newbie more to "stand a chance" as you say. I can, and have, gone with my Quafe fit against proto users and have killed them. As for the "starter fit only" mode, have you maybe considered that skills play a part in the large gap between players? If i fight against Newbie Prime, both of us running Ion Pistols only in our militia Gallente fits, I'll still have an advantage because I can charge 25% faster, reload 15% faster, hit his shields 15% more, have a whole clip and 1/4 more shots in it than him, and not to mention have 15% less dispersion, making me hit him MUCH easier than he can hit me. It STILL won't come down to "skill only". Wanna remove the bonuses? Congrats, you just removed the feeling of progression for skilling into something. Your "solution" isn't very sound in that case. NOT DONE.
in 'starter fit mode', NO SKILLS from your character would be applied, we would all be the same except for what suit you choose (starter fits of course)

You need to either learn to read, or become a better troll. You're proving to be bad at one, try the other next time.
yeah well in general discussions in the announcement section by the devs in the most recent post by them is the word 'tiericide', no mention of 'power cores' as i am usually playing the game and not digging through all the posts clearly i misinterpreted (only slightly) the changes that are forthcoming, and CLEARLY so have many others, and as usual the dev post was vague as to it's meaning also, like saying 'tiericide', but not mentioning 'power cores', so it's not really 'tiericide' but quite simply changes, as there will still be various tiers according to said power core, so to be pedantic the term 'tiericide' is wholly inaccurate and should be referred to as 'suit modifications' or something as the word 'pesticide' basically means the death of pests, this 'tiericide' is nothing of the like so it's really misleading in what is already probably the most complicated fps around so clear concise descriptions are required and not misleading terminology
