Im sick of redine tankers and sniper. We all are. The once who arent are the once who do it. So i suggest what ccp should do is make it so that you cant damage ppl while at the redline. Now hear me out, that would also mean that you couldnt be damage whiled you were at the redline yourself. That would mean that you would be able to call in tanks risk free while at the redline, but you would have to come out of the redline to do any damage. I think this would make it a bit harder to redline player, since they could get vehicles to get out there without having to worry. You would of course have to add something to tell youre inside your own redline. Maybe make the redline you cant see but enemies can blue? |

That supposed fix would have too many unwanted side effects.
The redline is a necessary evil, and current CCP design is good enough.
The best way to address redline sniping and rail tanking is thru map design: - avoid maps where the redline is close to focal points of map: no one should be project damage safely onto the objectives - The maps should be deeper, but not any wider. That would take both home-redlines away from focal areas. Then, the extra compounds and CRUs would become stepping stones to fight for the focal area.

So, pretty much redesign maps, make multiple ways to the objectives, as many as possible, and add sniping perch's to the mix, area's on, say mountain's close enough to the area's where they'd be obvious and couldn't properly head glitch, red line tanks would have to take a road to get to where they want, but the road would end in the front line, just as the mountain would, (say around a corner rather than be right in front of anything. However with this redesign, i'd also add friendly vehicle towing, reduce the speed of the towing vehicle, but once unhooked, would return to it's natural speed, the towing itself would take the same amount of time that an SL would require to lock on, (this feature is obviously applied to DS').

The redline is only needed on all of the poorly designed maps
