I only preorder games that are made by developers who havent let me down in the past. Bethesda being one of those, I will also preorder anything from the souls series, any metal gear solid, suikoden if they make another, the arkham series, etc.... other than that its whatevs. You used to have to preorder because games would actually sell out and you'd have to wait for the next run. Game companies arent silly enough to deny themselves the money these days. Over saturation for days.

When games actually stood a chance of selling out it made sense to pre-order a copy. But in 2015, with the prevalence of digital distribute methods, that isn't a concern any longer. Even physical copies of games rarely run out. Gamestop might run out, but Target, Toys R' Us, Wal-Mart, etc.? Highly doubtful.

It just irks me that people voluntarily give Gamestop and other companies an interest-free loan because these game studios happen to put together a snazzy looking prerendered cut scene, you know?

Scheneighnay McBob wrote:This is some sound advice. Don't hop on the hype train. I got lucky enough to play the beta for that. I knew during the first day I would be dodging that bullet. Its coming to ps4 with no monthly fee and I'm still not biting. I heard its play from disc tho, meaning you can buy it used and still play, so I may eventually jump on the grenade. It wasn't the same studio though I didn't have very high hopes and TES may be my favorite series eve4.

I do not regret that purchase, though it was a little upsetting finding that the best weapon (or one of the best at least: spoiler alert) is a pink vibrating dildo that you find in Mr Slaves ass. And it is really ******* OP.

When launch day comes, wait a while for some reviews, THEN try it

I do not regret the purchase so much as I regret pre ordering and paying full price for a game that netted only 15 hours when I expected 40 or more.

I would have been much happier had I waited until the release, read the reviews, and realized I should wait til the price becomes more reasonable.

I also pre ordered Destiny, and while I enjoyed it while I played, and spent enough time to merit paying full price, I was still disappointed with what I was expecting given the buzz.

So I can say I have personally learned my lesson about pre ordering games. Just don't.

How is it that Gearbox made Borderlands AND Aliens Colonial Marines? BL and BL2 have been two of my favorite FPS'.
Apparently Gearbox had split the Project with Timegate Studios, developers of the Section 8 games. Gearbox tried to shift the blame to Timegate, saying that when they brought them into the project (While Gearbox was working on BL2 instead), Timegate got rid of all the single-player assets Gearbox had already created. (The project began in 2006)

Gearbox then said they weren't happy with what Timegate had given them, but they were forced to release it anyway.

I won't be surprised if we see Borderlands 3 at this year's E3, it's been one of the only great games Gearbox have created, and I don't think they'll risk a new IP. Everything else they've been involved in has been decent, or really, really, bad (Duke Nukem: Forever, Aliens CM)
