It is coming out with a controller specifically designed for it and looks similar to the Xbox controller. It plays every game in the Steam Library, barring some, so if DUST gets ported to the PC and is set on Steam just like EVE Online, you can use the Steam Machine to play DUST like we are now. PS4 JUST BECAME ******* IRRELEVANT BITCHES.
the alienware computer is not a console. it is a regular PC with cramped peripherals and SteamOS as operating system. you could aswell install windows on it and do work.

Major argument...
PC also consumes 350 watt while gaming with latest stuff, more if cheap stuff PS4 consumes 120 watt while gaming
there are plenty of people that play 5 hours a day, that is almost 100 euro extra per year for your electricity bill, that adds up additionally to the PCs cost. |

But my motiviation for wanting to see Dust on PS4 is that hacking/botting becomes that much harder and has repercussions outside of Dust.
We already know that peeps will cheat the kittenfuck out of this game and if we can't promise the EVE alliances that battles are immune to being influenced by bot-inspired losses of important EVE-Dust joint operations then they will simply dismiss Dust as irrelevant.
Worse still, if hacked/botted battles were to become a topic of conversation, the EVE playerbase would prolly revolt and demand Dust be disconnected from EVE, or be made trivial and harmless: y'know, like we are now.
That's why PS4. Oh goodness. This argument again. As consoles try harder and harder to become PCs, they fall prey to the same problems. If someone wants to hack a PS4 to cheat they simply will. The reason we hear more about the PC cheating problem is due to more people playing PCs vs. Xbox One/PS4. Reporting cheaters and CCP having the staffing to handle those reports are the solution to this problem blown out of proportion. Eventually, if Dust turns a profit like I believe it will on PC, they can start up a Dust-version of Team Security. For those unaware, Team Security handles cheating/botting issues in Eve: Online. you can only cheat on the playstion if developer actually allows to copy paste saves and game files (like some stupid devs allowed on ps3) from drive to pc and vice versa and then use it in multiplayer battles as host.
manipulating data and bots are not possible to do on ps4 either, for that you would require to be able to run such software on the ps4 simultanously while playing the game which again is no way. |

Major argument... Disclaimer: Prices are drastically different in different countries. PS4 Brand new from EB Games in NZ (at least my town) is almost $600. Disclaimer: 600 nz dollars = 380 euros A WHOLE 30 EUROS MORE THIS IS DISGRACEFUL You can have a PC that performs better than a Ps4 for literally the same price. All you have to do is use Google. Why don't people research anymore?!
I would like to see that PC.
I can buy a PS4 for 350Gé¼ on amazon
the gpu is about as powerful as a 270x, thats atleast 150Gé¼, 180Gé¼ if you actually want a good one with better cooling solution. ~150 for CPU and cheap motherboard and you are already at 330Gé¼
you still need RAM, cooler, case and power supply. your will be at ~450Gé¼. with compromises you could make it for 400Gé¼ but the PC will be ******, loud, get warm and have low ram. it also wont run at 120W under load like the PS4 and games will not run as well as dedicated PS4 games using the PS4 low level API. |
