There are already graphics cards available on the market for $120 that surpass the PS4 and XBox One in terms of framerate, resolution, detail, value, and power draw. Console gaming isn't exactly cheap, either. A lot of people incorrectly believe that you have to spend upwards of $750-$1000 to get a PC fully capable of handling games. This simply isn't true! These inaccuracies can be attributed partially to the highly vocal and misinformed masses, and to the availability (and mainstream hype) of the expensive PC hardware we see advertised a lot. You see it more because it's advertised more. Why is it advertised more? Because the companies make more money from selling it as opposed to their mainstream and value offerings. The mainstream/budget parts are the ones you should be looking at; not the $2000+ enthusiast gear. We're not living the 90's any more. PC hardware is cheaper today than it has ever been! When taking a look at the measly selection of replaceable and upgradable hardware that some consoles offer, you'll always find a cheaper and better alternative for your PC. In fact, you can build a PC right now that will outperform "next-gen" consoles for pretty much the exact same price. After all, the "next-gen" consoles are really just watered-down PCs with crippled operating systems. Plus, if you only want to target 30 frames-per-second and only 720p, you're going to save a lot of money. In fact, it's actually hard to find a minimum-range graphics card that can even perform that badly these days. If you're looking to get parts even cheaper than in the example videos, PCPartPicker and /r/BuildaPCSales are great places to get discount hardware for your PC. the PS4 has basically a gaming optimised OS and the architecture of a PC. The PS3 had a for its time a unique architecture and a processor which made coding for it a rather painfull task. They called it "cell architecture" if i remember correctly.

This. Dust is no game for consoles. It's changing to fast and is supposed to last longer than a console lifecycle anyways. The consoles just hurt it.

I've heard as well that they would only allow a free-to-play on their console if they have access to the servers it runs on, IE Microsoft having a backdoor into Tranquility.

I can't verify that statement, but it sounds like something they would do.

ccp do,s not support back doors in to Tranquility remember how longgggggg it took just to let ccp get the ok for 3rd party apps

And that's what kills me about the people who still say they want Project Legion.

Project Legion's goal was to have NO EVE INTERPLAY WHATSOEVER when it released. In fact, you can go back and watch the presentations where they said that Dust - while receiving no client-side updates ever again - would maintain the link to EVE Online while Project Legion would be an entirely separate game running at the same time on PC!

They were literally going to put Dust 514 in a different box on PC and release it without one of the main things that got anyone interested in this game in the first place.

I mean, am I the only one that remembers all those articles on gaming news sites about Dust 514 after FanFest 2012? The shooter aspect of the game was almost barely mentioned compared to everyone being excited over that Orbital Strike they showed.

People fell in love with seeing a PC game interact with a Console game of a completely different genre in REAL TIME. Project Legion ignored that entirely, and I'm honestly glad that it appears to be gone.

No. PSN has to be the worst, most unstable gaming service, ever.
PS4 doesnt allow awesome 3rd party tools, easy updates, parallel beta testing(SiSi). While a pc does. If you wanna play with a controller you can on a pc, no one's stopping you, while you have to rely on m/kb support from the dev on ps4, which is usually ****(dust comes to mind). If you can afford to splurge all that dough on aur, you can surely buy a good pc, they arent that expensive anymore.
