The cooldown bonus doesn't affect much as being 'hot' doesn't do anything to the damage.
Instead its damage is: [base damage value] + (# of shots fired consecutively * scalar). Scalar ranges from .85 to 1.10 (not entirely sure what officer scalar is though).
So pulsing the laser rifle actually resets your damage. You want one single, long burn with it.

So pulsing the laser rifle actually resets your damage. You want one single, long burn with it. So avoiding overheat is absolutely fn pointless no wonder it is f'n broken it is as simple as track ,cook heat, begin firing, track target ,hope its enough damage
Well, overheating still tacks on an extra 5 seconds or so before you can reload and start firing again so yeah, overheating is bad... but if you can get a kill while overheating, without dying yourself, go for it.

I went 31/6 in a match earlier with a basic laser and an opus assault, on one of my alts. Being completely honest the laser is probably my favorite weapon in dust.

Not that I'm aware of, though it is possible, considering that between myself and a single friend we managed to take out a full 50 clones.

It probably was if it was on an alt you don't use all too often 'i know mina is upperbracket so if you seen any names you recognized it was upper bracket, if not most likely lower
My alt was until about 1-2 months ago, only 2million SP behind mina, with *significantly* more kills. He's now fallen to ~5mill sp behind, but is still leading in kills by about 5000 or so.
All of my alts are in upper bracket.
