I have some ideas for using arum without "paying to win", which benefits players who like the stuff and indirectly everyone else by paying for more game upgrades. In no particular order, here they are:
- More Skins- Skins are great, they cost money but don't affect the game. They should be expanded a lot. Ideally, every drop suit and vehicle could have skins of any color. While on the topic, I think it would make sense to have the skin slot next to the drop suit slot, both because that is where skins go and there is less clutter there.
- Custom skins- mix and match your favorite colors in whatever pattern you want, such as camouflage, stripes, or squares. It costs a bit to create a skin and get one for yourself, and anyone else can buy your custom skins without paying the creator's fee. Maybe you would have a sense of pride in creating a popular skin that is part of the game.
- Decals- in addition to skins, we could have decals. anything from flames to stars to polka dots. Any color you please, as long as you are paying.
- Masks- extra visual changes for the face of the drop suit. Probably will also be customized.
- Cleaning bot- Think it would be cool to have a cleaning bot in the future making your merc quarters shiny? I wouldn't, but if you want it, you can have it, probably for a buck. This thing can even go on walls and the ceiling if you set it to do so.
- Change Faction or Quarters- If you don't like your faction, you can change it for "legal fees" in aurum. same for your quarters, for example you could be Gallente but have Caldari quarters. The changes are independent of one another.
- Quarter decorations- hang a picture on the wall, or buy "upgraded channels" on the viewing screen to watch cool stuff instead of what the commoners get to look at. One time fee.
- Name color- your name is in pretty colors instead of plain white when it shows up on your screen or anyone else's. Some people might be into that and fork over a dollar.
These are my ideas, any criticism, complements, or feedback would be appreciated.

CCP actually does better than most developers at not making Dust pay to win.
Well, aside from the recent APEX suits, the lack of a non-MLT BPO suit that isn't bought with AUR, and how before quafe LAV BPOs, they removed the starter fit BPO LAVs but kept merc-pack BPO LAVs
Keep in mind some of these things just aren't doable with memory limitations: all the **** you want thrown in the merc quarters, for instance. Others, like custom skins, CCP has stated in the past can't be done, although they didn't elaborate on why.

I agree that they do a good job with avoiding pay to win, I'm just making suggestions for increased income. I don't pretend to understand the feasibility of any of them. I am no programmer (yet).

Suit cosmetics and Merc Quarters goodies? Sure, why not.
Disagree with the name color change tho. I prefer uniformity
!--CCP, let's push for the license of Dust on both current Gen consoles--!

Why is it that the stuff in merc quarters is not doable? If you have a few fixed spots, wouldn't it just fit in there?

You can earn the apex suits through factional....... So kinda goes down the drain on that.....
One might say... I'm very skilled... yet I'm his apprentice... So what does that say about my mentor?

Plus the secondary market slowly opening up which now includes certain AUR items like the 7-Day Active Boosters and 30-Day Passive Boosters. I can't wait to be able to trade BPOs as well.

BPO Trading is gonna earn me something like 500mil selling things for half value. I wanted to sell fast and cheap xD
I agree that merc quarter upgrades would be damn cool, but we need to focus on fixing bugs first, before we go into all this cosmetic **** that no one except me would buy
My 6th respec put me into the same things as my 2nd respec, only this time I have 12 million more SP =P

You are right about the bug fixes, although there are plenty of people who would buy cosmetic stuff if they were cheap enough, unlike the current skins.
