Since you nerds love to scream about things that are OP, need nerfing/buffing and whatnot, I have a game, it's called reading. And I know some of you can't be bothered to check Features and Ideas usually.
Go here, and click the link provided after reading the description.
This is about rifles and normalizations, and how to balance the main battle rifles with a solid DPS Vs. Range ratio.
the upshot? TTK increases, and the rifles do things that may make sense.
Downside? The proposal will thorougly offend anyone who thinks that any kind of numerical nerf AT ALL is the devil.
Although thoroughly offending people has never really offended me.

Dude I love planetside 2 as much as the next guy but I'm actually nervous about the release, 2 patches on release day we haven't gotten a chance to test out, I'm hoping that it goes well and as good as the beta has been to play their track record on having things work correctly with each patch has been pretty bad. Fingers crossed it'll be good though.
Now, normalising rifles is a great idea, hell all the gear needs to be tiercided and what have you but increasing the Ttk? Really? It's already pretty long compared to every modern shooter I can think of how much longer does it need to be?
If it's important to you, you'll find a way. If not you'll find an excuse.
