...of about 6 months or more.
Gotta say, this game has improved immensely. There is so much more content and polish I barely recognized the game.
There was a personal warbarge that had an upgrade and customization path, cosmetic items, daily rewards and more!! I was surprised to see so much progress in the time I've been gone.
I was thinking that if Dust had looked like this closer to launch, it would have been a much bigger success. I also find it weird that after the fanfest incident, that Dust received updates that were supposed to stop, something I was unaware of.
Overall the match I played was fun, I didn't do nearly as well because of being oblivious to the new meta, but it was still intense.
The only thing this game would need from here is to make the controls a little more fluid. After playing some other shooters, Dust still feels a little sluggish.
Other than that, I commend the dev team for not giving up.

Somebody needs to start giving me a dollar every time a player comes back from an extended break and says "wow this is great", only for the player to play for a few months than take another break. Glad you're enjoying it again though.

Unfortunately I won't be staying long. I am participating in the PS2 beta. It's a lot of fun and I enjoy the scale of the battles and the impact it has on the environment.
If Dust were to come to PS4 with more imporvemnts though, I'm sure I would be rekindling my love for New Eden. The lore in this universe is so deep and developed that it needs a proper treatment on a platform that may bring it closer to its vision.

Dust seems to be undergoing a period of optimization nowadays especially now that CCP Rattati, Frame, and the rest of the Dev team have implemented the new SKIN system which is borrowed from Eve Online. He is now looking into the concept of Power Core Modules as he has indicated here which would further optimize the game in terms of PS3 memory usage. Apparently there are about 180 unique suits (double that if you count the female models) that are currently preloaded into system memory in any given match in case a player uses that suit and that causes the game to act weird sometimes. The concept of the Core modules aims to eliminate that waste.
My point here is that if Dust 514 can be stabilized properly on the PS3, it would have no problem should it ever get ported over to the PS4 which has far greater hardware. I hope it does get moved to the PS4 primarily because it is convenient for the PSN account holders who have already invested time into this game.

We need more players like you, Maken. This is all great news. The possibilities with Dust are so immense, and it's nice to see the devs taking all they've learned with EVE and implementing it here.
I believe a port is warented in the future, because it's the sure fire way to increase the games population. There isn't any game like this that interacts with a universe like EVE online.
Here's to hoping that CCP keep taking this IP seriously.
