Now, see, here is where your logic is flawed.
To assume there should be a shining light amongst every weapon tree is wrong... the Roden is still very useful as a one shot weapon, but to assume it has to be flat out better thanks to an ultra-high damage is wrong. The same logic should be applied to the SCR and aSCR as well, but sadly, those aren't on the current to-do.
However, with the current lowering of damage, the weapon should have been made more available and maybe given a 2nd round in the clip, but it wouldn't be something I would, personally complain about and say the weapon is dead / no longer useful in any situation (as some have said in here). With damage mods and prof, and the ultra high head shot modifier, it is still a one shot weapon... just don't expect it to come from a body shot.
What is your source for the ultra high head shot damage modifier? I thought that Roden counted to the same category as Ishukone and Thale's (the 'baseline' sniper).
Granted, haven't botherd to check the game although I still could the the recordings.
Surely you agree that if even that headshot modifier is the same, then the Thale is 99,5% of times better than Roden now. (only +0,5% advantage on only very first shot)

I have a very dualistic view on this Roden nerf.
Understandable: - Apparently it was released by accident into live environment. As IWS said, without full testing. - OHK things are a sensitive issue.
Not understandable (at all) - There were no complaints
- The nerf is stupendously high, it is virtually same damage as Thale's. Even some benefit (like 25 damage) should've been left.
- The Roden was even before nerf not as good as Thale's. Why? It was better than Thale's in not-so-wide scenario of OHKing a target which had more HP than Thale can deliver - but not that much HP that Roden couldn't finish him. For example, Roden was nice in killing combat scouts which would start to evade like crazy after 1 hit. But, for most times, when shooting heavies the Thale's was better.

Testing the weapon; we usually do such things when they come out. Like I said, I think if you were to actually use it for what it is needed for, it is still useful. I don't think this is the "omfg CCP nerf hammer to strong?!?!?!?!" moment that everyone is making it out to be.
While testing the weapon - I usually document everything and are able to present facts.
According to video evidence on Warlords 1.1 hotfix:
Thale's Sniper Rifle has a headshot modifier of 286%. http://oi61.tinypic.com/69m4g5.jpg
Roden Sniper Rifle has a headshot modifier of 286% http://oi61.tinypic.com/f3dd20.jpg
Also, I made a quick test to show that the Warlods 1.1.2 Roden has still the same modifier as in 1.1 - it was NOT buffed. http://oi60.tinypic.com/29olqq1.jpg

So, as the headshot modifier's are the same we all can agree that Roden has no benefits to Thale's.
Assuming no one considers extra +0,5% damage a valid exchange for being a single shot only weapon. Anyone thinking so, please do raise your hand and tell us under your own name how much you like making that trade.
