I got my code yesterday via PS Home and today I logged onto the game. What I noticed right away was that players take an immense amount of damage before dying. I'm not *complaining* about it although the vast majority of other shooters you don't nearly have to shoot another player to kill them.
I encountered a fight where me an the other player literally were jumping around shooting at one another and eventually I killed him. Although it took nearly a solid 30 seconds of shooting one another face to face before eventual death. (No lag either)
I notice that there are damage increases. When you get enough skill points you can level up your Assault skill, buy a new gun, etc. But it's only 3% per increase and there's no difference at all.
The same can be said with sniper rifles. I gave that a go and shot multiple players with a dead on hit and they didn't die and an eventual kill assist soon followed. It's a sniper rifle. They should be doing massive damage and pretty much instant death.
I know that this is just a beta, and I completely understand that. I hope that other players agree and we can see a massive deterioration in which the amount of bullets a player needs to be hit with decreased.

In a world of supersoldiers wearing advanced suits with built-in shielding, self regenerating armor plating, and the mobility of a cat downing a kilo of catnip mixed with steroids, I think the technology of defense has caught up with the weapons.
Besides, I don't want this game degrading into a 2-shot campfest "CoD in space". |

I understand where you're coming from completely.
A great example minus the shield part would be Killzone 3. Players didn't take too much or too little damage. A grip that annoyed me the most was when I was in a massive turret and nailed a player, explosions all around him with hit markers and he didn't even flinch. I ended up dying.
Even with the shield + health, no one should be able to live through that. =P |

Take a look at MAG on Youtube. I think they had the perfect damage; you had enough time to react and counter such as dropshotting, but a whole clip to the back should kill someone. THIS IS AN FPS. I don't care what the back story is and that we're supersoldiers in a supersuit. MAKE THE GUNPLAY ENJOYABLE. Jumping in circles is not fun! If I sneak up behind someone and they take an entire clip, they should die. Bad players will use the suit as a crutch since upgrading it makes you pretty much invincible... Let the players with gun game use it. Some guy who runs straight at me will kill me right now since I'm a low level and have no good upgrades. I have had guys literally crouch walk at me and I'll be jumping and strafing and they'll win because they spray. I might land a clip and a half on them but they survive. Not much fun if you ask me. MAKE THE GAME BALANCED |

NO change to damage newbies search and learn what the problem is before u go ranting about something that is not an issue but actually something else that is causing u to think ppl sponge bullets |

I disagree with the suggestion for a damage nerf. This is a truly terrible idea.
Mainly because if damage is increased we will end up with high level players being able to one shot other players with a pistol.
Further, why would I spend any money on equipment in this game if it can be taken away by a single random shot.
I actually think that the increased survivability of players is a fantastic idea. More time playing, less time spawning. |

was the guy you were against a heavy if so thats basically what should happen i think the bigger problem is the point that all fights deteriate into a circle strafeing match that takes somwhere between 15 to 30 seconds esspesialy with assult class
A tip for new comers is on the militia fit of assult the base sheild recharge is very good as it stands mabye try to replacing the recharger with another extender on the basicl modles 2 med already has the one but if you put on 2 you at least have upper hand aginst fellow militia fit troops plus stick in groups or with at least one team mate 2 vrs one should have the edge but with movment the way it is in current build its not 100% |

FYI - You can already one shot someone with a pistol if you hit them in the face.
Back to the OP - The damage isn't the problem, it's the hit detection. It's bugged, and also fixed in the upcoming build. Wait until you get the new build before you start asking for damage adjustments, as the gameplay changes by a radical amount when bullets actually hit when it says they do :) |

i dis agree with this, in fact i would go as far to say in most cases it is to easy to die. When I use my assault suit I die pretty fast, but then when i switch to my heavy I tend to die just as fast if not (it feels like) faster. yet the heavy "has" almost 3 or 4 times the armor/shields. Now granted I suck at the game so it is probably me but thats my two cents. I hate controllers haha |

I think there should be no change in the Damage, keep it where its at, the only reason why you think damage needs to be upgrade is because you haven't had the full experience of using better weapons. After you get past the Militia grade, it gets a lot easier to kill someone, also you have to take into account the fact that the other person may have better shields or better armor in general. |

Erm, I get one-shot kills with my sniper rifle (charge rifle plus two 10% damage mods plus Weaponry V plus Sniper III), and a headshot always kills whatever I am aiming at. With my tactical i need only double tap the average suit. Even when I started out, a headshot always took my targets out.
Additionally, a militia assault rifle can kill a militia suit in literally one second, 375DPS for the worst rifle in the game is nothing to sneeze at.
Things already do craptons of damage, it is the ability to hit your target that troubles people.
Every time someone says "I unloaded three clips into him and he did not die" is a liar, you did not unload two or three clips into anything, you just sprayed wildly. A single clip from a breech rifle for example is a total of 1728 damage, enough to kill any suit in the game.
Use your sights. Damage is already extremely high. |
